Every city/town has their recognisable semi famous characters. Who is yours from Aberdeen? A few come to mind for me, such as the guy on the leather kilt with a housand bits of metal hanging off him. Usually seen on king at/union st
Aww, cripes. I didn't know I'd have to write a description. How many words is that so far, like a hundred? Soooo, yeah. Mildly interesting stuff. Stuff that interests you. Mildly. It's in the name, ffs.
For all that is good in the Pacific Northwest. Washington is the absolute best.
My fiancé and I are trying to buy our first home. He works for the state so he can kind of transfer to wherever we end up and I work remotely. We'd been looking more around Longview area, and we just stumbled on some beautiful homes in Aberdeen well below our budget.
For more context about us as people, I work in healthcare, am generally quiet and creative, book worm, love the ocean. Two young kids and were thinking of having another. My fiancé is a nerdy nature guy who likes to play video games and read. We're in our early 30s.
I know that it's where Kurt Cobain was born, and so can make some general assumptions but like. That was decades ago.
So what gives? What all is wrong with Aberdeen? Why shouldn't we move there?
I'm just floored by some of the homes I've seen, good ratings on the schools.... it's not adding up.
Thanks!
**Edit:
Thank you all for your honest and direct responses! Some people seem concerned I am planning to go out and buy a house in Aberdeen tomorrow, which I am not, so no stress. I am still in the looking stage and really determined to find something safe and comfortable for my family.
I am coming from Vancouver after living in the metro area for five years and have dreams of owning some property to grow food, animals, and children on. So, any input as to where we SHOULD move is greatly appreciated!
