Eating disorders are a big issue in the drag scene and the gay men’s scene in general. We’ve seen them discussed multiple times on RPDR. It just feels so icky to me that queens will talk about how they are actively struggling with an eating disorder (Valentina) on the same season where they’re being praised of their body constantly. Venus on Canada’s drag race opened up about her struggle with an eating disorder while simultaneously being praised for her tiny waist. It just seems like production is fine with using the queens trauma for views, but there is never an acknowledgement by Ru that the skinny bodies he loves to praise and openly envy aren’t achieved through healthy diet and exercise.

Can I please have a discussion? I’m new to the sub so maybe this has been talked about but jeez are we not tired? Serenity? Imani? Destiny? —-the list goes on and on. It’s like the purposely choose men that don’t like black women. The ones that choose them are only doing it to stay there and once they can get who they really want it’s the same ole thing. It’s exhausting to see how performative these guys are- even the black men on here “yeah you’re my type” but turns his head as soon as non black woman comes. Preferences is preference but why keep having black women on a show when nobody ever wants them? It’s really annoying and gross to see since it’s been like this for how long now? Sorry to rant I’m just tired of seeing my sisters down bad for these losers.

Yes, she hasn't won a badge yet, and that's unfortunate - I hope she wins one soon. But if we look at track records and include highs alongside wins, Shannel has been high or won 5 times. The only queens ahead of her or on par with her are Angeria with 6, and Plastique who also has 5. Shannel is kind of good at everything, and on a regular season where they cast early outs and mid outs, I'm sure she would have won multiple times by now, but I think hasn't been the best at anything (yet), which is an issue with this format in part (i.e., casting only frontrunners and having no eliminations). We saw this kind of on AS7 with Shea being high or winning 7 times out of 11, beating out all the other queens (except Monet) by that measure.
It kinda makes me feel like there should be a reward for being high too given that all the queens in any other season would be cast as finalists, though I'm not sure how that would work. But I'm not sure that Shannel is being slept on by the judges in the way that some are claiming - she's been discussed in almost every episode so far. How much time she gets in each edit per episode is another question of course, and I do feel like Shannel is being shortchanged in that regard.
Curious to hear what others think.

I was a big fan of Izzy during Love is Blind and this show made me love him even more. His sweetness and awkwardness really showed how normal he is compared to everyone else. I do however think this was the wrong show for him. Perfect Match is basically a frat house and I think Izzy just doesn't fit into that vibe. Wishing him happiness, I hope he finds someone!

Why oh why did Christine and Nigel win?!? That was like the worst option! Alara and Stev were robbed of their win, absolutely noone else deserved it. They had their ups and slight downs but always managed to stick together with proper communication. As much as I liked Tolu and Chris, something always seemed off about their coupling for some reason. Micah and Kaz seemed more genuine until Kaz went off on a tangent. Elys hasn't changed at all since THTH cuz she is still obviously chasing looks and lust and seems extremely hesitant to commit even now..plus I don't trust Bryton one bit. He would've been happy to take up Elys' or Micah's offer just to stay in the house.

And it’s totally fine for both men and women to have dating/physical preferences, but I feel like the show producers need to do a better job of ensuring the cast are all open to dating people of different ethnic backgrounds. Kaz, Izzy, Stevan, Bryton, Justin, were all completely NOT open to dating anyone darker than a brown paper bag… it was painfully obvious. Fine for them, but quite limiting for the black or brown women on the show looking for love and open to anyone. They just need to do better research/casting… because it’s exhausting to continue to watch women get disregarded based on the colour of their skin.
