Idol School is Mnet's new program that takes girls who have the desire to become idols and puts them through schooling and training. Those that pass the final "graduation test" will be able to take part in the new girl group.
Originally there was a report that students were not allowed to be signed with any agency. Because of this, I assumed the 4 former JYP trainees already left. But apparently there is a member of Bonus Baby (rookie idol group) on the show??
It seems like trainees under contract might still be allowed to join the show afterall?
Idol School statement ended up saying that while they haven't created an exlcusive contract yet, they will soon because there are students who do not have agencies (because they are non-celebrities) and are minors. The program requires 5-6 months of training and other stuff that needs constant care and monitoring of the students. They mention that they will not be involved with management after this training period.
Those who graduate and debut with the new group will be under different management. Mnet does not know which agency they will debut under.
Those who fail to graduate will have help and support in their further activities, which will be explained more in depth at the end of the program. Students who fail to graduate are also allowed to terminate their contracts.
