Bridgerton sisters do not have the closeness that their brothers do

The brothers always seem to be laughing and joking around with each other, but the sisters don’t really interact with each other.

Why in the world were the Mondriches at Francesca’s wedding?

Why in the world were the Mondriches at Francesca’s wedding?
false

Their prominence this season felt pointless through and through in every scene, but what irks me the most is how prominently they were featured at the Bridgerton events for no apparent reason. At Polins wedding it was fair enough, since Colin and Will are sort of friends now I suppose, but why were they there for Francesca’s intimate close family only wedding?? It seems like the writers meant to make them close friends with the Bridgertons but just sort of forgot to put that in the show. It just made every second of their screentime frustrating and annoying when they could’ve become beloved and important characters.

Disappointed

I am really disappointed in this fandom at the moment. There’s just been so much hateful comments and negativity. I love Bridgerton, both the books and the show and I am not upset at the changes made. No book adaptation follows the boom to the letter and things are changed. We saw that from season one.

Underrated supporting actor this season: Colin’s hands

It drives me crazy when people say Luke is wooden or can’t act. I think he’s the king of using body language effectively. Much has been said about him acting with his eyes. Another thing I’ve noticed is just how much Colin expresses himself with his hands. Iconic carriage scene aside, here are some moments his hands speak for him:

  1. The cupcake scene. When he follows Pen into the tent, he drums his fingers along the table. Here he’s nervous yet excited to talk to Pen. It’s a mix of anxiety and anticipation to know what it is she wants to say to him.

  2. The pointing at Eloise when they have their first one-on-one talk about Polin’s engagement. It’s him commanding her to find it in her soul to remember her good times with Pen. It’s brotherly authority and also gentle accusation - “don’t lie, you once felt affection for her, as I do, so why are you being unreasonable now?”

  3. The cheek caressing during their wedding dance. Enough has been said about this moment so I won’t go into detail but suffice it to say he cannot help but to physically show his love for her and her beauty despite his conflicted feelings.

  4. When Eloise says “do not let your marriage be the scar”, he moves his arm away because he’s frustrated at the situation, but he also feels helpless yet wants to still be in control of his emotions.

  5. The second time we see him with the two babe baddies he paid for “revelry”, he is touching them a lot less compared to the first time. His hands are stiffer, because he doesn’t want to be there.

  6. The different scenes of him running his hands or fingers across his journal after Pen read it. It feels almost like he’s searching and exploring his own writing to see what it is that Pen saw. He wants to read it from her POV.

  7. Mirror scene of course. Him running his fingers across her neck and shoulder. This scene has him in control at first. He wants to assure her, make her feel desirable. Up until she says “Tell me”, and you see him passing the control to her. “You could touch me” tells me he finds power and meaning in what hands can do. It’s subtle, but again very symbolic of Colin using hands as language.

There are many more but that would make this a super long post. Did you notice any other moments where his hands conveyed something more?
