What are some games that crippled your playthrough for some obscure reason?

What are some games that you've given up on because of something weirdly obscure, but returned to much later on only to realize that it was weirdly obscure and actually not difficult at all?

For some clarity on my meaning, I'll give a personal example:

I remember when I was in third grade The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages on the Gameboy Color had two puzzle segments that had me give up on the game for almost six years because I just sucked. The first was a cuckoo you had to pick up and mash A or B to cross a chasm, and I couldn't mash fast enough as a kid, and the other was this irritating minecart puzzle in Symmetry Village that I can't really remember (time for a replay I guess). Neither were all that difficult the numerous times I've replayed them as a teenager or adult though and I just think "Jeez, what the hell was wrong with me" lol.

On a side note - Those are probably my two favorite Zelda games (Oracle of Ages/Seasons) exclusively because of the password linking feature. That was seriously the coolest feature I'd ever seen back then, but now carrying over a save is so common these days that it's funny to think about how a generated password was necessary to simulate that back then.

For people who have played octopath traveler...why is a healer the second highest melee damage in this game?

For people who have played octopath traveler...why is a healer the second highest melee damage in this game?

So, there's this small wholesome guy named Alfyn greengrass, he is an apothecary which means he's basically a medic.

And while I obviously expect support classes in a turn RPG to have some damage options...the capabilities for physical altercation this guy has are so fucking powerful.

At the start he might seem like a full support with abilities to heal and cure bad effects, but when you unlock a skill of him called "Amputate" brother this man becomes a absolute threat.

There's this other son of a bitch called olberic, he's the knight class and is all you could expect from a knight, he is tanky as all hell and if you tell him to hit something it WILL die.

And somehow, alfyn the initially squishy healer can somehow square up to the main combat class both in health and damage.

Amputate if fully charged deals an obscene amount of damage but that's not all.

You can unlock a passive skill that basically doubles Alfyn's hp bringing him to almost THE SAME hp as olberic.

Just needed to vent out this sheer absurdity, thanks for reading.
