Hey guys,

Been doing this career for a little bit and joined a great company that lets me design and oversee my projects from start to finish include CA work.

I recently graduated couple of months ago with only couple months of intern experience and now leading some high end projects trying my best, piecing together details and products, consultants, etc.) Things like Schools, City Halls, Community Centers, Firestations. Working on 3-4 of these at the same time.

I was really hoping I’d get more of an understanding of the process first, but I was thrown into it all.

How normal is this route/experience? Love to hear y’all’s feedback.

I’m interested in switching my major to architecture but I’ve never taken an art class let alone design my own buildings before. I’ve only done art as an hobby and have always wanted to try out architecture but was always to scared to commit to it due to the time it takes to complete, relentless self-doubt, and the average pay. Before committing to this change, where should I start off in respect to designing- what tools to use, video sources, softwares, etc... Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Miscellaneous

I check Archdaily almost every work day to check what projects are being built around the world. But today the website told me I reached the maximum free article available for the month and that I need to pay for subscription??

I tried to search for exactly how many free articles I get and found no answer. I assume it's not small, because I click on perhaps 10 articles during the workday... but this is sort of frustrating.

Architectural technology University confusion (England) • Architectural technology University confusion (England)

I’m looking at universities for AT. Derby (ranked 95th for UK universities) is a ‘centre of excellence’ accredited by the CIAT. Does this mean that it would be better to go to the lower ranked Derby uni compared to a uni like Salford or West London, which are not a ‘centre of excellence’? Please any help would be appreciated.
