In my home, telemetry and stuff like that is disabled at a network level. If the inability to reach such telemetry servers is the cause for your client to freeze and make me unable to launch my games, i'll be glad to just uninstall the client and stop playing your games altogheter and never buy from you again. Maybe i'm just a drop, but at the end of the day there are a lot of gamers out there using pi.hole, and i bet adding it up it will hurt.
Sincerely,
an Ex fan( been playing fifa since 98 world cup)
Update:
The EA APP, to clarify, does not allow me to even launch the store.
Also the amount of people that do not think this is wrong and that are defending such behaviour or instead of seeing a possibly worthy cause and saying" ehi you know what this maybe does not affect me but i should support not having this stuff mandatory" is simply depressing. Expecially those that actually take the time and effort to be apologetic for EA, one that is universally hated.
Update 2:
It got an award!! incredible!
The fact that this got 1.3k upvotes has slightly restored my faith in humanity.
Case in fact, most of the people commenting and downvoting my comments to hell came to either tell me i am stupid, no one cares( but you cared enough to comment? why), that i don't understand dns or networking( but at least they have an argument there, as much as they are wrong). to them i can only give them my best wishes and will for sure defer to their experience when it will come the time to completely welcome our corporate overlords when they will have a camera in each room with IA to profile our preferences so that they can best target their ads.
For those that made it here:
I don't see anything besides third party collection URLs that are being blocked by PI.Hole.
That would suggest that the DNS server is doing its job correctly, because if i need to whitelist third party collection URLs for EA App, it would mean those are going to be whitelisted for other applications or website too.

My friend has a Ryzen 3600 and I notice the temperatures were a little higher than they were in the past 3 years. He wanted a new cooler anyway so it was perfect time to check the thermal paste. He wanted RGB so he got a Wraith Prism. I know AMD stock coolers are a pain to remove but this one was the ultimate one. I know the coolers like to stick to the CPU on AMD ones so I was extra careful. I let the PC heat up then turned it off and tried to remove the cooler. It wouldn't budge at all. There was no movement at all. I could not twist it or even pick up on it. It was if it was cemented to the CPU. I did see that stock paste can be like that but I would expect some movement. I got desperate and unplugged the coolers fan and loaded into bios to watch the temperature. I let it slowly climb. Cut my pinky on a case fan. I tried every 5c to twist and remove it. Once it hit 75c and it still wasn't moving I knew something was bad. Plus I was burning my fingers touching the hot cooler. Turned off the PC and just sat there applying constant pressure to see if it would budge at all. Nothing. Told my friend that only one option left and that was to lift straight up and hope I don't bend any pins or break the motherboard. If so then we get to go to Microcenter.
Nothing... Would not budge. Removed the ram and got my phone in there to see under the cooler... What is that? It looked like a glob of glue. No... they did not glue the cooler down did they? Yup. I ripped it off and it was like a black hot glue/epoxy on each side that glued it to the AMD black brackets for the CPU. My friends PC was from SkyTech so I guess they glued it to the motherboard. The thermal paste was indeed bad. It was very dry. I put new thermal paste and new cooler. Now it cools better. On average around 10-15c cooler.
Edit: Added pics. and the
TL:DR- SkyTech decided to glue the cooler to the motherboard with some kind of glue or epoxy and the thermal paste was completely dry.
