Clyde & Co slashes partner numbers as cuts deepen

Global law firm Clyde & Co has asked almost a quarter of its local partners to leave the firm, worsening a period of cuts and departures that is set to halve the size of its Australian partnership.
The six forced departures, which are a rarity in law firms, come in the same week three partners jumped to rival global outfit Kennedys, and more are expected to go as the firm struggles to turn a profit from low-margin insurance advice.
