Why are you playing PS2 games in 2024?

I found my PS2 slim after 16 years sitting in the storage room collecting dust. I opened it, did a deep clean from the inside out and it's as good as new. I'm now replying the games that I used to play in my childhood as well as discovering new games that I didn't have the chance to play. I've never felt this excitement to play games since those days from my childhood. Now I don't feel excited for new modern games. I feel like they suck. Can't even play a game without having to pay extra for content and virtual currency. There are only a few games that I can think of that are actually fun from today's games. PS2 games are so freaking fun. Back then when developers focused on fun and not sucking every penny from players. Even though these PS2 games are old, it feels refreshing playing them.

I would love to hear your experience with the PS2 and what brought you to play with it in 2024
