bargain hunt for sweaters, not nannies

Why is anyone trying to cheap out on the most important thing in their life- the care of their child?? My philosophy is to get the very best nanny you can afford. Pay above their ask rate so they feel valued. Because they literally have the most important job in the world. I work in healthcare, and I stand by my nanny's job being more important than mine (is this fair? I don't know. I care about my patients but not as much as I care about my kid :) ).

Here's to hoping my kiddo is happy with his new nanny. Thank you for what you all do.

Goodness that episode tonight almost sent me over the edge! I screamed when she started painting that beautiful pink umbrella! She ruined it.... the paint bled when she took off the tape; she really should've left it pink. :( They had WAY too much going on in such a tiny space; too much pattern, the wallpaper in every single room was overkill, the wrinkled wallpaper was a mess, the pink ceiling, the lattice in the kitchen.... all of it made my head hurt! I wonder if they now realize that in a rental market it's important to be a bit more neutral since you want to attract the most people. I can only see sorority or bachelorette parties renting that place. Thoughts?

How do you bargain hunt for necessities?

I wasn't raised in a household that cared too much about money(my parents were a "Put it on the credit card!" kind of people). I was never taught how to budget or buy cheaper, because mom and dad will just take care of it.

Now that I have my own household to worry about, we're struggling to make ends meet and stay above water and I feel like I just can't wrap my head around it. We try to shop around for good deals and spending as little as possible, but I'm taking a full hour just trying to figure out how many cents difference each store sells cat food for, and I don't even know where to start with coupons.... there has to be an easier way, right? Do you guys use any apps or sites that can compare prices for the same products between retailers? Or is everyone just putting hours of work and research every week to make sure they're getting the absolute lowest possible price on basic grocery items? I just feel like I'm missing something.

Gabe’s, bargain hunt, ??

I’m from here and visiting for a few weeks. My usual surplus store stops are gabes and bargain hunt for major discount stuff (beyond the regular tj max, Burlington, etc). Gabe’s and BH seem to have taken a dive on quality stuff for cheap. I just recently found Discount Fashion Warehouse and that’s great! Anyone have any other suggestions??

I was born in the 80s! My memories are mostly of scheduled TV and select choice of channels.

Although the last time I was proper poorly (maybe 2018) I was also pet sitting at a friend's place and watched back to back episodes of Catfish for around six hours! That was good
