Jamboard files in Drive log events

As an administrator, you can use the audit and investigation page to run searches related to Jamboard files in Drive log events. There, you can use Google Drive log events to view how frequently Jams are being created, who is creating or editing them, and more. You can then export your Drive log event data to Google Sheets and analyze it with a Sheets pivot table.

Drive log events are searchable for up to 6 months after the event occurred. Learn more about Data retention and lag times.

Filter and export Drive log event data for Jamboard usage

1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

   Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

2. In the Admin console, go to Menu ReportingAudit and investigationDrive log events.
3. Click Add a filterselect Document type. 
4. Click Document typeselect Google Jamboardclick Apply.
5. Click Search.
6. Click Export all.
7. Enter a nameclick Export.
   The export displays below the search results table under Export action results.
8. Click the export name link.
   The log event data opens in Google Sheets.

The export might take time to download depending on the number of users in your domain.

Analyze your data using Google Sheets

After you export the data, you can use Google Sheets to analyze it with a pivot table.

You can see which users in your organization are using Jamboard and how many unique users are taking action on those Jams.

1. In Sheets, open the spreadsheet that contains the Jamboard data.
2. Select all of your data, click InsertPivot tableCreate.
3. On the right, under Pivot table editor:
   • At Rows, click AddOwner.
   • At Values, click AddDocument ID and AddActor.
   • For the Values of Document and Actor, change Summarize by to COUNTUNIQUE.
   • At Rows, change the order to Descending and Sort by to COUNTUNIQUE:
     1. Document ID will show how many unique Jams that owner has had action taken against by themselves or other users.
     2. Actor will show how many unique users have taken action against that owner’s Jams.
