I was a huge Sonos fan until this latest update. I honestly don’t understand how a company can brick our systems that we paid for with our hard-earned money and get away with it. It doesn’t bode well for the future if Sonos decides it wants to charge us a subscription fee to use our systems.
I would throw my entire system up on eBay if there were a credible alternative.
Any recommendations?

So, here is a feature request I have had open for a few years now. The ability to nest energy / power sensors, for the purpose of dashboards, rollups and diagrams.
To- give an example of a use-case, here is a diagram showing energy utilization throughout my household currently.
Inside of this diagram, I am tracking every single watt going both into, and out of my house.
I can track energy utilization down to individual light fixtures and devices. In the case of my server room in the bottom-pane, I even have energy broken out by purpose (Compute / Network / Storage).
Now- what would be really nice, is a method built into home assistant for automatically setting these dependant relationships, so this data could easily be consumed by say, the built-in energy dashboard.
I have had a feature request out there since 2021, if this sounds like an idea you would enjoy seeing, please give it a bump. ->
As well, we have a github ticket for the sankey diagram used here, to automatically support mapping these relationships here ->
That being said- for anyone wondering how the above diagram was implemented- All of the details for that, are here ->
