The league has rescinded Giannis Antetokounmpo's 10th rebound last night--and thus his triple-double, sources tell ESPN. League rules say that for a field-goal attempt to count as official, the player has to shoot "with intent to score a field-goal" -- i.e. to make the shot.

Good or bad decision? https://twitter.com/ZachLowe_NBA/status/1632833179261304838?t=zNrFnqR8fKXUVTQnZzkFcw&s=19

Zach Lowe gave up his NBA awards ballot

Per today’s Lowe Post, he said he’s given up his awards ballot for this year because it wasn’t good for him mentally.

Last year’s MVP debate was really that brutal, huh?

Zach Lowe, Haralabos Voulgaris and Bill Simmons discuss the Warriors before their 2014-15 championship season

https://youtu.be/kKqRMP07wmw?t=893 (Warriors chat starts at 15 minutes in)

Stumbled across this old Grantland podcast of these three previewing the 2014-15 season and they have a pretty good chat about the Warriors which is interesting to look back on considering what they went on to become. Leading into the season, there was plenty of discussion on them not trading Klay + Lee for Kevin Love and Steve Kerr was their new coach.

Few standout points:

- Bill thought Iguodala was near the end of his career, like Pippen post Chicago. The others agreed Kerr would get him back to his best.

- Bill predicted Shaun Livingston who they just signed would have a huge impact on the Warriors being better

- Despite it being his first head coaching job, all three predicted Kerr would be a big upgrade compared to Mark Jackson (with all due respect)

- All three agree they should've traded for Love with one interesting quote "players like Klay come out of college every year" and "it's Kevin Love, you just go and get him"

- Quote Bill "He's a good player but I won't be telling my grandkids about Klay Thompson"

- Zach Lowe had Curry as his MVP prediction that season if Lebron didn't win it, which Curry did end up winning

Listening to the Dame trade reaction from Russillo compared to Zach Lowe was jarring

Zach Lowe - enthusiastic and excitedly discussing impact on the league, the Bucks roster and their odds of winning, chemistry between Giannis and Dame, and highlighting some of Jrue's accomplishments and where he may end up next.

Russillo - angrily lecturing all the people who thought the trade should have happened sooner.

An all-time low point for Russillo IMO. In what should have been a great topic to discuss, instead came across as a stern lecture with no substance.

[Zach Lowe] Conspiracy theory regarding Harden's option

On his podcast (recorded today, after the press conference), he said a conspiracy theory floating around NBA circles is that Harden is going to decline his player option (which is why he didn't pick it up after the trade), sign for less than the max, and Philly will then attempt to move Tobias, which will allow them to open up close to a max spot and sign a 3rd star.

Discuss.

The tweet in question asked “How much of this paragraph is relevant to MPJ?” since that was seemingly the topic of that section of the article.

This is also the same excerpt that made it to the front page of r/nba yesterday.

edit: he did this before the portland game my apologies

Zach Lowe: “Multiple rival executives asked me if Curry's new mega-extension could become a liability on the back end”

“Multiple rival executives asked me if Curry's new mega-extension could become a liability on the back end," ESPN's Zach Lowe wrote Wednesday morning.

What are your thoughts Mr. Lowe?

"Hogwash. Who even cares? Everything that has happened to the Warriors -- the titles, the quadrupling (at least) in team valuation, the new arena, record-breaking revenues -- all starts with Curry," he writes. "None of it happens without him.

"Pay him everything." https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/rival-execs-could-steph-currys-warriors-contract-be-liability
