Any sane person should at least admit that WW has had a disastrous launch. Even if your experience is fluid, it is not representative of tens of thousands of people having stuttering/lag issues (like me). Well, just how bad can it get? We all know that CN Genshin players are now mass exiting WW and returning to Genshin, basically turning the comment section of their official account into a confessional (currently sitting at an astonishing comments. But what's the situation elsewhere? Oh we are in for a ride

A simple search of WW right now on Bilibili (Chinese Youtube) yields a dazzling amount of videos pointing out various problems with almost every aspect of WW. Most of them are gaining hundreds of thousands even million of views. This is surprising since it's only been a few days after the initial launch. Without certain CCs acting as a filter for critical opinions, CN players are relentless in their dissing of the WW fiasco. I will divide these videos into several subcategories, pick a few of the most influential videos, present the stats, and talk about the gist of their ideas. You can check out the link and see the general sentiments of the CN players in the comments.

1. The Confessional and Genshin/WW Comparison Videos

This type of videos mostly compares the two games from the overall experience down to the animation of climbing up the floors to express their disappointment in Kuro's lack of attention to details and reevaluates their view on Genshin. "The meaning of your journey" refers to what Dainsleif said in the Travail trailer and what Venti said at the end of Mond archon quest. For example:

2. Critiquing the subpar plot of WW

And I don't just mean the beginning. CN players do not like ANY of the plot, spanning the entirety of the main story and Jiyan story quest. One of the major things they were discontent with was how Jiyan and Geshu Lin were depicted in the main story and Battle underneath the Crescent cinematics. In their eyes, Jiyan fled the battlefield when his superior Geshu Lin issued the command to stay in the frontline, and he is thereby called the "Deserter General" (And some used Jing Yuan's ultimate line to make fun of Jiyan, saying "Time for the master desertation!" Funniest shit I've ever read) This is a screenshot of Chinese players spamming "?" on the official cinematics.

Later, Jiyan put the military's commands in rover's hands as if rover were not an amnestic being but somehow an experienced combat general, prompting the community to doubt Jiyan's military prowess and decisions.

Another one is how Jianxin treats the group of people who destroyed military radar. People are expecting her and Yangyang (who is associated with the military) to bring them to justice, while they just let criminals walk free. I could list more, like Lingyang's story, Scar, etc., but you get the idea. Here are a few:

3. Streamers Losing their shit Playing WW

A lot of streamers who play the game (outside sponsored streamers of course) were so extremely disappointed that they just broke down going through WW. Their reactions were recorded and touted as comedies to enjoy. CN players came up with the name "shit-eating watchparty" for these kinds of videos.

5. Analyzing the revenue WW is making

WW's launch only placed it at around 10th place max on the revenue ranking chart for the mobile apps in China while constantly dropping, which is painfully mediocre as even ToF's launch placed it at around 3-4th for a few days, not to mention that game like Star Rail occupied the top place for 3-4 days straight during launch.

It should be noted that I only picked a few, but there are plenty other videos at around 400k - 900k up to 1M views criticizing every aspect of the game. ( And they are constantly increasing in views. Just go to the vids and check the differences between the one I documented and their current state. The views are going up so fast)

Even after they gave out a free standard 5 star selector, they are still getting roasted relentlessly in their comment section at this very moment, demanding them to switch up their writers and optimize stuttering. has 17k comments already. Ironically, the common sentiment is that "Kuro didn't listen" and that they are playing dead.

Funnily enough, there are already rumors that Kuro has changed some in-game lines and designs based on CN player's feedback. For example, a line that Yangyang said that was deemed disrespectful towards soldiers is removed. And it seems that Scar's design is altered because CN players are sick of his cock-zipper for some reason.

The developer was "released" from Kuro games 2 months before the game's release. after which he wrote a blogpost called "永远有多远“, or how long is eternity.

In it, he has said: After all, this industry in China is really a desert of idealism. It neither lacks capital that is solely oriented toward profit, nor lacks companies that have no basic contract spirit, nor hypocrites and real scoundrels who talk about being great in front of others and scheming in the end.

He also said: When choosing a partner, character should be your first priority. Not only what he says, but also what he does; not only what he does and says to you, but also what he does to his past partners; not only what those close to him say about him, It also depends on what past estranged partners think of him.

Consider the track record of Kuro firing fresh graduate, destroying their career trejectery in the previous firing wave in 2023. It seems like Jiff is indeed hinting on what happened between him, and Kuro game's management.

A comment said Since the two engine experts were laid off last year, the capitalists' face has been revealed, "First prove that they are a blackhorse, and after eating the penguin meat (tencent investment), you will shear the sheep." Another commenter said: good thing you are gone, other wise you would be losing so much hire working over night.

In which jiff replied: optimization of the final close beta 2 months ago was fine. I wouldn't be making stupid mistakes like this.

Hinting his discontent with w/e took over the position. Likely due to some office politic happening.

Finally, for why was he laid off, a commenter speculated that: Layoffs before launch... are they trying to reduce the number of people who will share year-end bonuses when the game becomes popular, I have seen this before before

In case some people are forgetful, I've got to review the 10K Black Card incident. The technical backbone left right before PGR was released, So no one knew how to fix the bugs. All they could do was to wait until the old dev was brought back. Great show for that server opening.

As of the current state, Wuthering Waves is going to be in a very difficult spot, in fact before we talk about how good it will becomes. the real question might be, will it even survive.

After losing one of the most importent member in the dev team likely to either office politics or coporate greed, plus at this point i wouldn't be suprised they will be bleeding even more developers as the chrunch get worse. Additionally, consider every scandle that has came out of Kuro in the past year. Unlikely any experience developer that has choice would pick kuro as their next company.
