Playing all 25 LEGO×TT Games on current Xbox Hardware!

A couple months ago, a bunch of classic LEGO×TT Games were on sale on the Xbox Marketplace for 5$ or less per title. Having played and enjoyed many of the games on multiple different gaming consoles, I purchased a few of the games which I had missed along the way.

This got me thinking — how many of these old games are still playable on a modern gaming console like my Xbox Series X? It turns out, basically all of them, but with a few caveats... This led me down a deep rabbit-hole, including a lot of research here at r/legogaming, on r/legodimensions, Wikipedia, and around the web.

The result of all this digging is an article I just published that tries to consolidate all of this information into an easily digestible guide for folks who want to revisit some, or all, of these classic games! I do think folks here will find it both interesting and useful, and I also want to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Even though I already had digital copies of some of the games, I bought the missing titles on disk while researching the article.

LINK: https://brickarchitect.com/2024/playing-all-lego-tt-adventure-video-games/

In case you do not want to read the whole article, here are a few of the main highlights:

  1. You really can play all the games on the latest Xbox Hardware, so long as you have the series X model that has a DVD Drive.

  2. You can't play the original versions of LEGO Star Wars 1/2 or the original LEGO Harry Potter games, but you can play the remastered versions of both, which are nearly identical apart from improved graphics.

  3. There are two titles which you can only play with a disk-based copy: Lord of the Rings (which I love) and LEGO Dimensions.

  4. You can also play most of these games on a Windows PC or Steam Deck, but LEGO Dimensions is a console exclusive.

  5. Other consoles like Playstation or Switch are great, but they have much more limited backwards compatibility.

Games organized by console generation. (Xbox is pictured here, but the same applies for PS3/4/5 systems.)

I also geeked out on how well the LEGO×TT games give us a window into the transition periods when new gaming consoles are introduced. As you can see in this photo, there is a key period right after a new console is released where games are available for both the new and older system. This sems to be about 4 years after the new hardware is released.

I hope you found the article interesting and useful, and genuinely appreciate feedback of any kind! I am also working on a follow-up article that reflects on the series as a whole, offering more editorial perspective on the best and worst games in the series (acknowledging that even that is subjective).

I also hope to highlight some of the ways that the evolution of LEGO toys influenced the LEGO games, and more importantly, how the LEGO games influenced the LEGO toy products. In particular, I would love to highlight some key examples of a minifigure which appeared in video games but was later included in a physical LEGO set.

Sincerely,
—Tom Alphin, brickarchitect.com

/r/Games Five-Year Time Capsule (2024-2029): What thoughts/predictions/expectations do you have for the future of gaming?

The current date is May 22nd, 2024. This Capsule will be 'opened' and revisited on May 22nd, 2029

What is this?

This is the r/Games 'time capsule'. A way for users of the subreddit to digitally write down their own thoughts and ideas of what gaming might look like in five years time. When the five years are up, the time capsule is then posted on to the subreddit so people can see what types of predictions people had about gaming half a decade later. It's a fun way to 'write messages to people in the future', and to have a look at the past.

What are your expectations for gaming in the year 2029? What types of predictions do you have, what messages for people five years from now? Some things to keep in mind:

  • The consoles as of now mainly consist of the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch (with its successor planned to be announced later this year). There's also 'lite' variants of the Series X and Switch.

  • The Nintendo Switch in March 2017 (seven years ago) The PS5 and Xbox Series X in November 2020 (three and a half years ago).

  • In the last few years Microsoft has acquired ZeniMax Media (Bethesda) and Activision Blizzard, whilst Sony has acquired Bungie.

Some questions/notes to give you some ideas:

  • When will the next Playstation and Xbox consoles release?

  • Will Sony or Microsoft try to direct with the Nintendo Switches form factor (Portable or docked)? If so, will that release within the next five years?

  • Are there any titles that were announced in the past few years that you think still would not have been released in five years time?

  • How many franchises that are active today will have begun to fade?

Then there's the state of gaming:

  • How will monetization evolve in the gaming industry in five years? What MTX practices will grow, and what MTX practices will fade? Will $70 (USD) games be the norm?

  • How will the industry look, in terms of acquisitions, downsizing, and mergers? Will the current big players in gaming grow, stay relatively the same size, or shrink?

  • Will VR become more popular and accessible? Will AR?

  • Where do you think game companies that are popular today will be in five years?

I didn't know about Nintendo until now.

Nintendo is a game company that has been a part of my childhood, but I didn't know it until now. Okay, it may sound like I am delusional, but I am not. Read further.

I am from India, and as some of you may know, Nintendo exited the Indian market in the 90s, long before I was born. During its presence in India, Nintendo launched all of its famous consoles up to the Game Boy, but the sales numbers weren't that great compared to the rest of the world. There were many issues; you can search online. One of the main issues was the affordability of games and consoles. So, back then, if you wanted to play Nintendo games, there were only two options: 1. Game Cafes, and 2. Cheap knock-offs of NES and Game Boy consoles. The games were the same; they just used different designs for the consoles. Additionally, since Nintendo had exited the market, there were no copyright issues.

I got my first taste of Nintendo through knock-offs in the early 2000s (I know, decades late). Like me, most 90s kids in India played on these cheap consoles while the world was moving toward the N64 and PlayStation. After Nintendo's exit, there was a gap in the console gaming market, and no other companies showed interest until Sony decided to launch the PlayStation 2 in India. During that buffer period, these knock-offs became very popular. I received one as a gift from my uncle, and the very first game I played was Super Mario Bros. with my sister. It was so special for me—those tunes, those mechanics, and the local multiplayer. It was my first time playing a video game, but I never completed it due to the huge game library of Nintendo titles. I played many games, some of my favorites being Duck Hunt, Contra, Track & Field, The Legend of Zelda, and many more, but I never had the curiosity to find out who made those games.

During that buffer period, many Indian gamers moved to PC to play more advanced 3D games, and consoles became less popular in India even though Sony and Xbox were simultaneously releasing new iterations. One reason for this is piracy and emulation, which became very prominent in India due to its ease on PC. Slowly, this became a norm in the Indian gaming community. I remember visiting gaming stores to buy pirated CDs of GTA and Call of Duty. At that time, I didn't know I was buying pirated games; I thought that was how games were sold. But it became clear with age. Nonetheless, I played a lot of PC games and started buying games from Steam, as I liked my games to be updated and risk-free.

Coming to the present, I am an avid PC gamer, and I have also played many console titles thanks to cloud gaming. But I always missed Mario and Zelda because of their simplicity and pure joy. I never knew these games were made by Nintendo. The first time I heard of Nintendo was during a visit to a console shop, where I first saw the Nintendo Switch in a red box. Of course, it was imported, and the price was sky-high. For me, it was equivalent to a mobile phone, and I thought Nintendo was a Chinese company. I showed no interest and moved on with my PC gaming, never thinking about it again. One reason I showed no interest was that none of my friends had heard about them, and there was no active discussion about Nintendo games in the Indian gaming community at large. Most of our discussions were about Xbox and PlayStation.

But in March 2024, I came across MrWhoseTheBoss's YouTube video on Nintendo, where he explained every bit about Nintendo and its console generations. From there, I took an interest and researched a lot about this company. Then I discovered that my favorite childhood games were in fact made by Nintendo. Even through the years, the company has made a lot of Mario and Zelda games. I was amazed. I then watched the new Mario movie (which I loved). It was like reconnecting with a long-lost friend whose name I never knew. I saw gameplays of many Nintendo games, one of which stood out was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I had heard about this game before but never bothered to know more. At first, I thought it must be available on PC, but to my surprise it was a console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. After seeing all the features of the Switch, its various models, and the game pricing, I decided to buy a Nintendo Switch Lite. I wanted to try handheld gaming first, and also with the Nintendo Switch 2 in line for next year, I decided to play it safe and bought cheapest console first.

I got my new purplish-blue Nintendo Switch Lite a week ago, and after using it, I regret not coming across Nintendo sooner. I loved it so much. I tried some first-party game demos like Pikmin, Kirby, Yoshi, Captain Toad, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. I loved them all. I had never played these games or their previous iterations before. Finally, I decided to keep the Switch Lite and buy my first games: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. They are coming today (26/5/2024), and I am very excited. Out of this excitement, I am writing this huge story. Sorry if it was lengthy.

I am very happy to join the Nintendo community at last. I will play on my Lite this whole year (huge game backlog) & also I will complete Super Mario bros & the first Zelda until the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out. I hope it will be backwards compatible.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!

Ps : Can you suggest some other nintendo titles ? PS : I got both games & I am now enjoying a heck out of breath of the wild 4 hours + , still on the Great plateau. Still learning game mechanics & ways to kill bokoblin. Truly feeling like a child 😍

I'm Ariel and my game Please Fix The Road, which I made for fun, was unexpectedly successful. Now I'm trying this gamedev thing once again. AMA!

Oi people!

My name is Ariel, and I'm a solo developer from Poland. I've created a cute puzzler with great animations called Please Fix The Road. It has reached over 25,000 players on PC (Steam and GOG), and now it has also been released digitally a week ago on the Nintendo Switch, along with its console cousins Xbox and Playstation, with help from a publisher. I've always dreamed of having a game on consoles, and I still hope that one day I'll see a game I made in a physical box on a shelf.

A long time ago, I used to create Flash games for a little money. Recently, I had a strong urge to create a game again simply for fun, and the unexpected success made me reconsider a solo game development career. I'm hopeful of releasing the current game I'm working on next or this year.

I'm here to answer any questions you have about... well, anything! From gamedev, my experiences during it, the marketing I did, my cats, or my bald head. You may also be interested in a post mortem I wrote on the gamedev subreddit. Please, kindly AMA!

Edit: Thanks guys, I will message some of you tomorrow with the keys. I need to sleep! Cheers!

Edit #2: I guess the AMA is over, thanks for the questions. I've sent 5 people keys. Cheers!

Went to Virgil's EAV Barcade last night.

Since there seems to be no place to review them I figured I'd post this for anyone looking for info on it. You pay $10 to get in and for that you get a drink ticket and unlimited playtime until close. Their drink selection was rather limited, some liquor with mixers, Modelo, Pabst, and Miller High Life (all short cans). The beer was $5. They also had alcoholic seltzers.

As for the games; they have a handful of original arcade cabinets like donkey kong, frogger, as well as some racing arcade games. They also have several of the newer emulation cabinets of games like Terminator and NBA Jam. I would say in total it was something like 15 total arcade cabinets. They also have tvs with emulator consoles like sega, playstation and super nintendo loaded up with lots of games. I hear they plan on getting a couple pinball tables so that would be exciting.

Overall I'm interested to see where they go with this. When I heard the $10 cover thing I was a bit put off but there were some positives: it wasn't very crowded and you got a drink ticket which made it more like $5 for unlimited play.

Things I think would make it much more enjoyable and may or may not be on the horizon:

  • Bigger drink selection. You already have a cooler built in behind the serving area, it would not be terribly hard to get 4 or 5 beers on tap with the existing system. Not even having an ipa was a bit of a shock to me but this is like week one or two so I imagine things are going to change.

  • Pinball. Personally, when I think of a barcade I immediately just want to play like 10 different pinball tables. The problem is that when you have unlimited play you're going to get people sitting at those tables for hours because that's just how pinball goes.

  • Personally I don't mind the emulator cabinets but there is a little bit of cheapness to them. If the business model is to continue doing the unlimited play I don't have any issue because they're cheap enough to replace if they get broken and aren't high maintenance because they're mostly just a cheap computer inside.

  • They desperately need to build in somewhere to set your drinks. Everyone around me was setting their drinks on the slanted area with the joysticks and buttons which is a recipe for electrical disaster. Most of the barcades I've been to have little drink baskets hanging off the machines which solves this.

This game changed me

Sorry in advance for my yapping.

I never had an interest in Harry Potter, despite my mother always wanting me to get into it. I loved reading books but never picked them up. I remember growing up she would show me the movies and buy the lego games for the Wii. Although I did enjoy them I still didn't care much for the franchise itself.

But last year, during the holidays I received a ps5 and I was ecstatic. There was one game I wanted to play, the whole reason I even wanted a PlayStation to begin with, and that game- wasn't Harry Potter but actually Frontiers of Pandora. I guess it's a strange choice but I loved the world and really wanted to be in it. I enjoyed the game for a while, my thirst was quenched. It took me months to progress though it but I was having fun.

During that time my mom decided to buy me Hogwarts Legacy, and though it did interest me I was more enamoured with that blue people game and left Hogwarts unopened in a desk drawer. Until two months later, it's May now, and I still never finished my first game. I promised myself that I'd start Hogwarts Legacy when I completed the final mission but I kept holding off on it. By then I was nearing the end of my school year, I wasn't sure what to do.

The weekend before graduation I finally decided to just start it, I'd play it until I get past the introduction and then go on the rest of my day with more important things. But that didn't happen. Once I started playing it I couldn't stop. There was so much I wanted to see, I wanted to know what happened next, learn new spells for combat and the like. Before I knew it hours passed, usually with a depth of field so close I'd get motion sickness and headaches within an hour but that wasn't happening. I wasn't thinking about anything else anymore, that game had me in a chokehold. I'd constantly forget to eat which has never happened before in my life playing a game.

Every waking moment I was either playing that game or thinking about it. I went out of my way looking for more side quests just to have more to do. Most games I can't stand spending more than 2-3 hours on at a time but for this one I was casually having 6 to even 10 hour sessions. Yesterday was when I did the final quest, not counting the day of the graduation it took me 5 days to complete it, maybe 4 if I hadn't tried to hold off on it as long as I could (didn't last long) now I'm just feeling empty. I could 100% the game if I wanted, doing tedious tasks and playing as other houses. But it won't be the same. Nothing won't be the same as experiencing that game for the first time. Sure the game wasn't perfect, but it was far better from what I had expected.

I desperately want more. Hearing about the datamines makes me wish they had been given the developers more time beyond the already 2 year(?) delays. The companions, the house points, the ability to affect the relationships and morality of our character. Even if it was just early stuff they were testing on & was never fully intended to be in the game rather than cut due to time restraints as most people think I really would've loved to see it. But I still love the game that we have now. I like to imagine what it would be like if we could have dlc that would drastically expand the game or a sequel that continues your journey as a 6/7 year. It definitely probably most likely will absolutely not happen but it's nice to dream.

I honestly appreciate the feel(?) of the game if that makes sense. A fully single player game, no microtransactions shoved in your face or dlc planned from the beginning to compensate for a weak game. It reminds me of how games used to be, once they were out there that was it. There was no way to add on to it so you had to make a good of a game as you could from the start. I wish more games could be that way. And I love this game for feeling that way. Thank god this franchise is so vast because I expect my fascination won't go away anytime soon. I think at this point I'm already past the point of looking insane but It's changed my whole view. I will definitely start to read all the books now, separate the art from the artist.

Festival AFK (Controller method (working as of 5/25/24)
  • XP method: AFK

  • Maps/Game modes available on: Festival Main Stage (No Fill) (also works on Jam Stage but out of consideration for other players it's recommended to do it in a solo environment)

  • Daily XP Maximum: 420,000(one XP pool shared between Jam and Main)*

  • XP earning rate: 30,000 XP per 15 minutes* (maximum earned within 3 1/2 hours)

  • Daily XP cap reset time: 9AM ET (or, the same time as daily match quests reset)

  • Known bugs/glitches:

    1. Intermittently appears to get no XP, to avoid this, check to see if you didn't receive any XP after the first 16 mins, if not return to the lobby and then log back into Festival

    2. Intermittently appears to give excessive XP and on occasion less than the expected 420,000 (I've experienced and also heard of people getting between 390,000 and 520,000 XP in a single session. (finally a bug that is a W!)

  • [] Steps involved:

  1. Load into Festival Main Stage (No Fill) (Do not choose any songs nor select "ready up" from the menu, just remain in the backstage area)

  2. Perform one of the two following tasks:

  • A) For Xbox, Switch and PC controller users:

  • Turn both analog sticks inward towards each other which will cause your character to run in circles, then, using a rubber band, string, or a cable, secure both analog sticks so as to maintain movement persistently. (For Xbox users especially: Since there is no setting to prevent your controller from automatically going to sleep, connect the controller to your console using a USB data cable (a charging only cable may not work). You may also need to do this if using an Xbox controller on PC.

  • B) For PlayStation 4 and 5 Users only:

  • Perform the same task as in step A, but instead of securing analog sticks, while holding them inward and walking in a circle, on PS5 tap the PlayStation button, which will bring up the bottom menu or on PS4 press and hold the PlayStation button until the quick menu comes up and then release it. Your character on screen should continue to walk in a circle so long as you leave that menu up.

  • Alternately, you can long press the PS button on PlayStation5 or tap it on PlayStation4 and it will bring you to the main menu screen where your game will be running in the background, your character will continue to run in a circle during this and it may put less strain on your system and generate less fan noise.

  • maximum XP of 420,000 and rate of 30,000 XP every 15 minutes seems to be fluctuating since the new season began, will be reevaluating for more concrete numbers, but it isn't giving less, so you will get a minimum of at least 420,000 XP but potentially more. Edit: for the last two days I have been receiving closer to 380,000 XP in spite of the fact that some leaker claimed that the XP cap had been increased significantly.

Critic Reviews

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Ed Thorn - Unscored

A puzzler and twinstick shooter that's just as pretty to discover as it is to look at. There's a hint of Super Mario Odyssey in there, too, if you're into that.

The Games Machine - Daniele Cucchiarelli - 8.3 / 10

A uniquely styled adventure, with game mechanics that are not new but used in a constructive and entertaining way. Narration, direction and soundtrack contribute to a rich experience that will steal your heart away.

Digital Chumps - Ben Sheene - 8.5 / 10

Hauntii is absolutely one of a kind, despite the familiarity players may latch on to. Moonloop Games creates a title focused on exploration that is visually riveting and packed with attention to detail. Incorporating puzzles both obtuse and clever, frustration and satisfaction may go hand in hand. But enough narrative heft and creative depth mean Hauntii is no mere specter that will fade into memory.

Hardcore Gamer - Jordan Helm - 3.5 / 5

While its lacking narrative and world-building comes off a missed opportunity that, despite momentary hints, never properly materializes, Hauntii and Moonloop Games' admiration and understanding of collectathon-styled adventures is what keeps this latest journey through the afterlife feeling anything but lifeless. The two-tone aesthetic and use of light-and-dark contrast, specifically in the context of level design, is where the game is at its most cleverly-orchestrated. Despite its minimalist appearance, this is a game whose subtle suggestions to maybe venture off the beaten path now and again is never too far away. Complimented along the way by a possession-based mechanic that plays host to challenges, mini-games and even a couple of set-pieces providing just the right amount of variety. It may not go down as the most memorable or indeed the most fulfilling example of its genre or indeed this style of game, but Hauntii still proves that even flawed creations can still bear a welcome level of enjoyment.

The Punished Backlog - Clint Morrison, Jr. - 8 / 10

Hauntii is a beautiful game that often gets in the way of its own contemplated brilliance. It is the game’s quieter moments that will stick with me long after the credits have rolled. At its best, the game presents an interesting, meditative alternative to the usually chaotic twin-stick shooter and challenging puzzle genres.

Use a Potion - 8 / 10

Hauntii offers a wonderful collectathon escapade that’ll keep players hooked in as they seek out the many stars hidden across the world to reunite with their newfound friend. The emotional storytelling is touching, the world design is creative and beautiful, it’s a ton of fun hunting down all of the stars scattered across the land, whilst the twin-stick shooting adds a fun little twist to exploration.

It does have some imperfections with its tedious boss fights and uneven difficulty balancing, but Hauntii still stands out as an enjoyable adventure that I certainly won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Nindie Spotlight - Justin Nation - 8.4 / 10.0

No preview available

Checkpoint Gaming - Tom Quirk - 7.5 / 10

Despite some very minor bugbears holding back the experience, it's hard to come away from Hauntii without feeling thoroughly delighted. The game is a testament to how much fluid and detailed art and animation and a great soundtrack can carry an experience. The game's central haunting mechanic is enjoyable to experiment with, and has plenty of clever implementations as you scour Eternity searching for hidden stars. If you're seeking a more chill collectathon with gorgeous artwork and musical score, Hauntii is certainly worth seeking out.

GameBlast - Farley Santos - Portuguese - 8 / 10

Hauntii is an indie title that goes beyond a simple twin-stick shooter, offering a rich experience of exploration and puzzle solving in an immersive world. The little ghost's unique ability to possess objects and creatures brings creativity to challenges, instilling curiosity in uncovering all the secrets. The minimalist visuals and soothing soundtrack complement the game's meditative atmosphere, making the journey both a visual and an emotional adventure. However, the experience is marked by a rhythm that can be frustrating due to the slow movement and difficulty in navigating between areas. Despite these points, Hauntii captivates with its melancholic narrative and charismatic characters in a journey that balances challenge and contemplation, offering a unique and beautiful experience.

One More Game - Vincent Ternida - 8 / 10

Hauntii is a short and sweet unique indie experience that provides a decent outing with its presentation, creepy cute visual style, and heartfelt story. It provides a decent enough challenge to explore and traverse its ethereal world. While collecting its stars to form constellations to tell the protagonist's visual tale is enticing, I wish it was done a little bit more organically.

Overall, its brief original experience really is something to be experienced to be believed. I enjoyed solving puzzles and interacting with the creepy cute world, and it's a decent indie to pick up in between the larger titles this year to spend the time.

Kakuchopurei - Alleef Ashaari - 80 / 100

Pairing the bullet hell twin-stick shooting with a slow contemplative story and emphasis on puzzles is a strange combination, but Hauntii makes it work. It has its flaws, but the hauntingly beautiful visuals make the Hauntii a game that is worth experiencing to the end.

GAMES.CH - Fabrice Henz - German - 79 / 100

Hauntii is certainly stunningly gorgeous and can make you feel incredibly smart whenever you find and solve one of its many puzzles. Unfortunately the game demands you to find and solve almost all of those puzzles which isn’t always easy to do. The map doesn’t offer a lot of help and it can lead to pointless and frustrating roaming around. The slower Twinstick-Shooter gameplay on the other hand is not too challenging but offers somewhat relaxing action moments.

Gameluster - Nairon Santos de Morais - 7 / 10

While hauntingly beautiful and fun for a good while, your time at Eternity unfortunately overstays its welcome eventually.

VGChartz - Mark Nielsen - 8.5 / 10

The creative fun of Super Mario Odyssey blends with the beauty of Ori to create one of this year’s indie gems.

I’m a new player and I need help

I have been playing the free version of trackmania for a few months and I just got the full version of the game. I have got the author metal on white and green on the spring campaign. I also got it on 11 and 12. I also have all the gold metals on the blue and red maps except 4 of them (14, 17, 18, 20) I struggle with the rally car and ice tracks. I play on PlayStation 5.

What are some campaigns or tracks I can find to get better at the game?

I would also like to learn more about the technical tracks?

Thank you for your time.

The amount of misinformation being spread about Shadows is absolutely insane.

The amount of misinformation being spread about Shadows is absolutely insane.

I do not think there has ever been a game that has misinformation being spread about it this much before release. And the worst part is that because people so want to hate this game, they will believe any misinformation they see without checking the source.

1: Assassin's Creed Shadows costs 120/140 US dollars (or some other such insane number but those are the most common ones). Wrong. There is not a single edition that costs that exact number. Standard edition is 70 dollars. Gold edition is 110 dollars. Ultimate Edition is 130 dollars. Collectors edition is 280 Dollars. A regular-priced standard edition exists but these people keep spreading misinformation that the game costs more than 100 dollars.

2: Japanese people hate Assassin's Creed Shadows and think it is an insult to their country and culture. While you can probably find Japanese people like that, to generalize that for the whole country would be quite erroneous. Because the game is currently a bestseller on both Amazon JP* and Rakuten Ichiba, by far the two biggest online marketplaces in Japan. Even the more expensive editions have been selling quite well.

Sources: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/bestsellers/videogames/8019286051 https://ranking.rakuten.co.jp/daily/568378/ Also screenshots if you are reading this when the topsellers have changed: https://imgur.com/a/UV1oInN https://imgur.com/a/BS00Q14

*When I pointed this out, I actually had someone tell me "Amazon is not that popular in Japan, those buying might as well be foreigners living in Japan" and people believed him.

3: Yasuke is LGBT. (Note: I am not posting this as anti-LGBT, I am posting this as anti-misinformation) This is coming to us primarily through this "tweet" https://imgur.com/a/schQWdd . This "tweet" is completely fake. I went through IGN's Twitter and they never posted it. That is not even IGN's current profile picture, it is this https://imgur.com/a/yiTMyPX . Someone made it fully aware that there is a large anti-woke crowd against this game already and is probably laughing right now how the hate towards this game and Ubisoft is rising through a completety fabricated tweet because these people will just believe it and will not bother checking is it actually true. Even if Yasuke truly ends up being LGBT, it does not make this "tweet" anything less than misinformation, it was not known at the time.

4: Yasuke is the sole protagonist. I do not have to add sources to this do I? It is basically a meme at this point how Naoe is the best assassin of all time, so stealthy that people do not even realize she is in the game. But this belief is still running rampant. I cannot go through a day without some self-proclaimed genius saying "hey, imagine if you could actually play as a Japanese person in a game set in Japan".

Of course there is also plenty of misinformation being spread about Yasuke himself but that is more of a historical thing than specifically about this game so I will leave it at that.

I probably forgot some but anyway. It has been said that most people will rather believe a pleasant lie than a painful truth. These people are similar, they so badly want to believe that these things about the game and company they hate are true that that anything negative about the game or the company just has to be true and thus they will just believe without checking the source. And it is you who is crazy if you tell them that it is misinformation.

What happened to pvp?

Ok, so I’m going to start this off by saying I’ve been playing this game since 1st age PvP. I made it to PvP warlord through the first 2-3 ages I believe. I’ve been playing this game for YEARS. So long that now I have kids old enough to play.

I’ve always been a fan at how complex the PvP aspect was, and used to run with a crew of 3 others back when the tournaments first launched. We used to have so much fun together and dominated the leaderboards every time we played. Solos, duos, or teams, it didn’t matter. We felt untouchable. And not without a LOT of time and effort put into our characters to make them the best of their level group.

After about 5-8 years of taking a break from the game and focusing on building a family, and you know, other life stuff, I wanted to come back to my old game that used to bring so much joy not too long ago. But Lordy, this game is supposed to be kid friendly and has now become one of the most complex games I don’t think I can ever fully come to comprehend again. So much has changed with this game to the point where It doesn’t even resemble the game I used to love. Jewels, archmastery, Half of the cards in my deck I can’t even use in PvP at all, every bit of my gear and pet stats are outdated, and does critical no longer work in PvP? What happened? I mean I get things change but why this drastically? I play a ton of online games on pc and PlayStation and this just seems overly complex and money-hungry now to be a kid friendly game.

Why did Polygon's best of PS5 exclude FF7 Rebirth and FF16?
r/FFVIIRemake

Welcome to the unofficial subreddit for the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.

Why did Polygon's best of PS5 exclude FF7 Rebirth and FF16?

So Square Enix has created two games with extensive critical acclaim (a scroll through metacritic shows that they're adores by critics) that are PS5 excuses.

However Polygon (https://www.polygon.com/ps5/21720698/best-ps5-games-playstation-5) has excluded both of them from their list of PS5 games to play.

I don't really follow video game sites much, but was shocked to see them excluded while looking at the list for new games to play. Did I miss something?

Having played both (and many other games on the list,), I would have thought at least FF7 R should be on there.

With all the talk of this game needing to sell more, it's a shame it's not on this list.

Edit/update: I'm not saying I'm upset or bothered they're not on the lists, I was just surprised they are not and was curious to see why. Thanks everyone for sharing your perspectives.

Festival AFK (Working controller method (no macros) as of 5/21/24)

** This method is for Festivsl mode in general, and is working as of 5/24/24. It can be done in mainstage or jam stage, but there is only one cap combined so you will not get twice as much by doing both modes**

  • XP method: AFK

  • Maps/Game modes available on: Festival Main Stage (No Fill) (also works on Jam Stage but out of consideration for other players it's recommended to do it in a solo environment)

  • Daily XP Maximum: 420,000 (for Festival mode in general, there is not one cap for mainstage and a separate one for Festival, they are combined as one)

  • XP earning rate: 30,000 XP per 15 minutes (maximum earned within 3 1/2 hours)

  • Daily XP cap reset time: 10AM ET (or, the same time as daily match quests reset)

  • Known bugs/glitches:

    1. Intermittently appears to get no XP, to avoid this, check to see if you didn't receive any XP after the first 16 mins, if not return to the lobby and then log back into Festival

    2. Intermittently appears to give excessive XP (I've experienced and also heard of people getting between 480,000 and over 520,000 XP in a single session for no rhyme or reason.

  • I know I had previously posted this method and then deleted it when it was patched about 30 days ago, but recently u/Ghassanpgp was awesome enough to alert the community that it was working once again around the time when Epic implemented the XP boost for BR.
