Finally visiting the farm

Finally had the chance to travel to the UK from the US to visit Diddly Squat this week and it was hands down one of the best days of my life, definitely a day I will never forget. Waited in the queue for about 90 minutes on Saturday and it was so worth it as we got a glimpse of Clarkson himself with Arya and Sansa and the black Range Rover. I’ve been watching Clarkson since 2013, since the Top Gear days and now with The Grand Tour and Clarksons Farm. Finally being able to visit the farm and see Clarkson (from a far distance) was such a surreal experience as I grew up watching him with Hammond & May and now with Lisa, Kaleb, Charlie, Gerald the rest of the Diddly Squat crew.

This small group of people have been with me (through the TV and phone) in the good and bad times. Watching Clarksons banter and humor with Hammond & May or him bickering with Kaleb or Charlie has gotten me through messy breakups, the pandemic, losing loved ones, extreme low points in my life. So from the bottom of my heart I just want to say thank you to Clarkson and his crew for helping me get through some seriously shitty times, you’ve made me realize that there’s more to life and there’s so much to enjoy. Even though we were far away from Clarkson, being able to see the guy that’s helped you get through so much in life through a TV screen in person was unreal and just awesome.

Bought a pint of Hawkstone Lager, Cow Juice, Bee Juice Rum and Smoked Chili Mayonnaise as memorabilia.

Side note: This show has made me realize how difficult farming is and how crucial it is for us as people to support our farmers in our countries. It’s a tough job and they need all the support that they can get from us and the government. Keep up the good work Kaleb, Lisa, Gerald, Charlie, Clarkson and the rest of the Diddly Squat Crew (and the other UK farmers!!!)

This show helped with my grief for my Dad-thank you Jeremy and co 🌾

This may be weird to post or say but I am so glad I watched this show. I am a farmers daughter that grew up on a farm in Australia.

We farmed wheat, barley and had sheep.

I spent my childhood sitting next to him on the header, driving around the farm checking crops and rounding up the odd sheep that escaped etc.

My Dad loved being a farmer and was doing it right up to his sudden passing.

This show was my comfort watch over the past few months and I really loved it. I learnt so much I had forgotten or wasn’t taught. It helped me with missing him in a way I can’t explain. I actually watched some of it with my brother who helped point out the differences between farming in the UK vs Australia.

Would like to thank Jeremy & Lisa, Kaleb, Charlie, Gerald and the rest of the crew.

I always told my friends that farmers are the biggest gamblers in the world and this show is showing the world that.

Thank you 🌾💚

Were there other victims before Drake? If so, how did they get away from BP?

it’s been a reoccurring question I ask myself. We know drakes abuse was about a year long, he was thankfully saved by his gfs mom and him speaking out. If there were victims previous to Drake, what happened and how were they able to cut ties with BP? I have a feeling something definitely happened with Leo Decaprio but I highly doubt he’ll ever speak out since he’s too big in the industry.

Bob's Time line

I pieced together where Bob lived, and when. There are some interesting stories that go with these moves, and I'll post links in the comments. As far as I can tell:

●1982 - 1995 - from Cathy's disappearance until Douglas was named head of the Durst Org, Bob was hanging around NYC with Nick and Susan. At some point he dates and briefly moves in with Deborah Charaton. ●1995 - 1998 - He buys an ocean view house in Trinidad, CA, but would also hang out in the Eureka, CA homeless shelter, and travel a lot.
●March 1998 - He leases a condo in Dallas and dates a real estate agent. He was also spending time in NY because the $$ letter to Susan from 1999 is on NY stationary. ●2000 - He sells the Trinidad house. He was back in NY at least briefly to marry Deborah. He moves to Galveston under the name Dorothy Ciner just weeks before Susan is killed.
●Spring 2001 - rents a room in NOLA under the name Diane Winn while still also living in Galveston.
●2001 - 2005 - federal prison.
●2005 - Terry Chavin tries to find him a place in NY, but no one will let him in.
●2005 - Deborah buys a condo in Dallas (The Royalton on Allen Parkway) and sells it to Bob for $10. They don't let him in. There's a lawsuit, and the developers pay several hundred thousand over what Bob bought it for to buy the condo back.
●2005 - 2006 - briefly back to federal prison for violating parole.
●2006 - 2015 - Bob moves to 2520 Robinhood Drive in Houston, TX.
●2015 - 2022 - Prison, where he remains until he dies.

Robert Durst's lifestyle before the 2015 arrest

Hey all. So I was getting back into The Jinx and I was looking back at the chain of events that factored into Robert Durst's lifestyle, my question is this: what exactly was Robert Durst's lifestyle like from when he first met with Jarecki in 2010 up until his arrest in spring of '15?

Was he just cowboying it and just drifting around by himself from city to city? Did he live with Debbie Charatan at all? So many question marks here

How scripted? How directed?

Two episodes in to season two so don’t spoil anything but…

The show is so beautifully produced it’s hard to imagine they just roll the cameras and cut together whatever they get. Is there a writers’ room?

Best gag yet:

Kaleb: It’s your show.

Jeremy (to crew): You hear that?

Kaleb smirks directly into camera.

He is like the biggest fan ever, and since 2014, it is well-known that he is a remorseless pedophile rapist.

What caught my attention is that I couldn’t find anything about not only Dan himself, but also his family speaking about his controversy.

Hi Hellier fans, Watched the show while sick with covid. Fun, odd story! I've always had a fondness for Pan since reading Jitterbug Perfume ages ago. Came to recommend the book to all of you and especially the Hellier crew (in case they read these posts).

Anyone else that was once kind of "meh" about the BRF until Meghan married into the family?

I mean, I knew who the major players were, watched all the weddings and read articles occasionally. I actually thought the monarchy did a lot for tourism in England and thought it should be preserved for that reason, if not for just the tradition.

I was even proud of them, especially the queen, for accepting Meghan. I thought, "Wow, they are really taking the monarchy into the 21st century. Good for them!" Due to colonialism, England had become a multi-cultural country, and an injection of a little bit of color could have been the best thing to happen to them.

I also understood that Meghan came from a complicated family situation and really hoped that her step-family did not ruin things for her. (I come from a similar family situation and am quite certain my steps would have first thought they discovered a gold mine, then done everything they could to ruin it when the expected pay day didn't materialize.)

When the complaints started coming out about Meghan being a bully to staff, being a bridzilla and "making Kate cry," I began to question the narrative. The stories seemed to be missing a lot of detail and just weren't making sense. I mean, who cries because the bride didn't want to do things your way at her wedding?

Over the years, watching the drama unfold, I began to see the foolishness that really seemed to escalate after the queen died. She may not have been perfect, but she obviously understood public opinion and how their very existence relied on it. It seems her son and grandson failed to learn that lesson from her. Once the queen was no longer holding the reins, it seemed to fall apart quickly. I have no admiration for the BRF now, and am joining the anti-monarchists in feeling like there is no reason for them to exist on the public dole anymore.

Sadly, for their children, I doubt that the monarchy will survive under Charles and William. And, they are doing it to themselves (although, they will likely blame H&M when it happens.)

What was the situation with kingston davis?

So theres a situation that happened with RB Kingston Davis in season 3 i believe where he got cut and prior to that he went to an early practice and claimed that his car was broken into and his pads were stolen, when kingston was interviewed on his way out he didnt mention anything about that. I get the vibe that he was upset about not getting playing time because one of the things he said was that they overrecruited but what i find interesting is that the bobby bruce situation and others were talked about a lot and ive watched a lot of interviews with JB and i havent heard nothing about that whole situation so im just wondering if im reading too deep into this and it was just another cut or did his car really get broken into?
