It's just Miles now. He's burned all his Bridges.

[–]Doomdoomkittydoom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

M Bridges is my favorite NBA player!

Mikal that is, Mikal Bridges is my favorite. I cannot stress that enough.

[–]Coolidger_ 137 points138 points  (4 children)

[–]Familiar_Loss3136 16 points17 points  (2 children)

[–]Trail Blazerskittens_ 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Is that supposed to be, like, "miles ahead"?

[–]Familiar_Loss3136 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you have to ask, you're streets behind.

[–]Supersonicsdimmyfarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least a Bridge apart

[–]RaptorsPunjabiveer30 201 points202 points  (13 children)

I swear I have to do a double take every time, few times I read it as Mikal and went “damn Mikal wildin” just to realize it’s Miles and go “nvm that makes sense”

[–]WarriorsNickInTheBack 84 points85 points  (1 child)

At this point I just assume it's Miles doing the bad things.

[–]Hornetshexapawn 29 points30 points  (5 children)

What if they are both doing it? Like the movie the Prestige where Batman's character was revealed at the end to actually be a twin that was switching off with another dude in disguise and they were both doing each other's wives and then one was a bad man and got hanged and Wolverine was all "no way that's crafty af why did I keep killing all my clones instead of just keeping one and keeping him in line?" then he got shot

[–]RaptorsPunjabiveer30 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Funniest bit of this all is you just casually calling Christian Bale as Batman while discussing a plot point from Prestige lmao

[–]Hornetshexapawn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bateman - e = Batman.

Coincidence?

[–]Hot-Coffee6060 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]Sunsphd2k1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

[–]PistonsASpartanLeopard 23 points24 points  (4 children)

Crazy to me because he was such a nice and likeable guy in college. This whole thing has been such a shock. I guess there was only room for one likeable Bridges in the NBA

[–]CelticsTotallyNotGlenDavis 14 points15 points  (1 child)

A nice smile goes a long way

[–]GOATnamedFields 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Izzo could keep a serial killer in line.

[–]Charlotte BobcatsBetweenTheBuzzAndMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and aside from some bad rap lyrics (don't ask I'm not an expert), you could pretty much consider him a good guy without controversy for his first 3.99 seasons in the NBA. Honestly the literal first thing he did wrong as a pro was get ejected from the play-in game vs ATL and chuck a mouthpiece at a fan on his way out and hit a different fan. All downhill from there. He hasn't played since that day.

[–]Raptorsthissiteisbroken 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Every single piece of Miles Bridges news makes me do a doubletake because I can't imagine Mikal doing any of this shit

[–]Thundercacacade 197 points198 points  (18 children)

When are we gonna start calling a spade a spade? He obviously has talent but isnt worth the trouble and weve seen exactly what kind of off court choices Miles tends to make.

[–][SAS] Kawhi Leonardastronxxt 109 points110 points  (14 children)

yeah i’m tired of people never addressing that he’s a bad person

[–]Trail Blazers2drawnonward5 48 points49 points  (3 children)

I don't like to harp too much because people aren't here for it but the league needs higher standards of conduct. idgaf about any excuses. The league IS shit for being alright with these shitbags.

Second chances are not part of the deal in the highest league in the world. Second chances are for the rest, not the best.

or at least third chances, ykwim

[–]Glass_Mango_229 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Who says they are all right with it? This guy was out for a year and lost $136 million dollars and will almost certainly be out of the league now.

[–]Trail Blazers2drawnonward5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and that's good. Just like, does it have to take this much?

[–]Sunssylvestersquad 996 points997 points  (97 children)

And will still manage to be on the roster opening night

[–]OriginalBus9674 318 points319 points  (58 children)

Na not this time. The NBA not catching this is embarrassing for the league. He’s about to get another larger suspension.

[–]NBAchronoquairium 325 points326 points  (42 children)

I expect 3 games max, even with what you’re saying in mind

[–]OriginalBus9674 106 points107 points  (31 children)

3 games max? Ja got 25 for the egg in the face the league got from the first joke suspension. No chance in hell is the league going to go easy on Miles again.

Miles isn’t the leagues future face like Ja could be, they’re not going to be lenient on Miles based on that fact alone.

[–]morcic 250 points251 points  (14 children)

You will find yourself very disappointed...

[–]BucksXxAuthenticxX 47 points48 points  (11 children)

Anything less than expulsion and I’ll be disappointed.

I have a tiny bit a faith they give him a season but I’m going to guess 30 games

[–][LAL] D'Angelo Russellkpalian 22 points23 points  (8 children)

they gave him 30 games last time. he definitely is teetering expulsion/season-long suspensions

[–]BucksXxAuthenticxX 51 points52 points  (7 children)

But that was for beating the shit out of his girlfriend in front of his kid.

If that’s not an immediate expulsion, I have no faith throwing some pool balls would be enough.

Hopefully since it’s a repeat offense that will make it enough for expulsion. It is embarrassing for the league

[–]morcic 8 points9 points  (6 children)

For as long as the mother of his kids doesn't press charges, he will get away with it. And why should she press charges? If he goes to jail, he's not getting his next contract, and she gets nothing.

[–]Sky19234 15 points16 points  (4 children)

I have no faith throwing some pool balls would be enough.

To be clear I agree with you that they probably won't expel for this but he was throwing pool balls at a car with children in it. He was a literal stones throw away from braining a child.

[–]Maverickstheartfulshart 58 points59 points  (8 children)

Bro a no name rookie walked into the building and immediately started slinging his dick around like it's nothing and got 4 games for it.

Miles could drop kick his girlfriend, shoot rounds into her household, then get on her car and helicopter his dick before turning around, bending over, and spreading his buttcheeks so the entire neighborhood could see his asshole and he'd probably still be back on the team by the end of the season.

[–]NBAchronoquairium 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Yeah, that’s what I’m getting at. Is unfortunate but that’s how the NBA is.

[–]curva3 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I'm generally a union guy, but isn't this a downside for society as a whole of having strong unions? Along with genuine defense of workers rights against unfair firings and punishments, some pretty ugly stuff get protected as well

[–]NBAchronoquairium 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Police unions are all you need to refer to.

[–]curva3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the police is something that shouldn't even have an union in the same way IMO. I mean, they shouldnt be allowed to go on strike

[–]FeelsGoodMan2 7 points8 points  (1 child)

No, this is the thinking that ends up with the US having dogshit social welfare because everyone gets up in arms about the 5% of abuses and not the actual people it's helping. There's always gonna be people unfairly taking advantage of the union but there are plenty of normal good people it helps. If unions didn't help society, then the billionaires and corporations wouldn't be so he'll bent on destroying them.

Yeah it sucks some bad behavior gets defended but unfortunately it's part of the deal. Now, I'd say maybe having smarter more flexible unions might be an alternative that might be best.

[–]Glass_Mango_229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That guy was out of the league for a year. Bridges was out for a year. It’s fun to act all indignant but if you are being dishonest it kind of undercuts your moral message.

[–]maxrod889 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I feel like the point you’re making here will actually be the opposite. If they only did what they did for Ja then don’t expect a molly whopping this time lol

[–]Spursonamonapizza 0 points1 point  (3 children)

We can say all we want about the NBA "making examples of these guys"....but they have yet to prove it.

[–]Thundermediuqrepmes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adam Silver's balls are kept in a drawer at NBPA headquarters.

[–]Trail Blazersbeatrailblazer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah he'll get an 82 game suspension with 79 games considered served

[–]Hornetsjaemoon7 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That’s less than he got the first time around. This is a second offense, punishment goes up. I’m expecting a season ban, I’d be shocked if it’s less than half a season.

[–]Glass_Mango_229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. These people don’t actually pay attention to what’s happening. They just like acting self-righteous.

[–]DowntownJohnBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this sub loves to circlejerk about the league’s leniency, but you have to be completely braindead to think he’ll only get 3 games. Recidivism in cases like these tends to lead to much, much harsher punishments.

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsRaptors2017champs 28 points29 points  (6 children)

If the league cared, they wouldve made a statement by now.

[–]Celticsbillcosbyinspace 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’m expecting another “time served” suspension, I really don’t have any faith in the league to do the right thing

[–]taygads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You underestimate Adam Silver and Joe “he’s just a kid” Dumars

[–]Hornetsjaemoon7 87 points88 points  (20 children)

He wasn’t on the roster all of last season. The punishment is going to be harsher this time for the repeat offense. I mean Ja got what he did, & he didn’t injure anybody… I don’t think we will see Bridges for a long time. I hope he is cut.

[–]CanadaJMoon33 73 points74 points  (13 children)

They signed him for almost $8 millions this summer lmao, they clearly still want him on the team even knowing he's a wife beater.

[–]SpursGGezpzMuppy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

A quick trip to the wellness center to learn breathing techniques should be about right.

[–]Hornetsjaemoon7 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Right, they paid him $8 mil for a season in which he probably won’t play, again. I would hope the Hornets, even regardless of the morality of them signing him after the initial charges, would decide it’s not worth it to pay a dude who keeps taking himself out of the league due to his off court issues.

[–]Hawkshumancartograph 5 points6 points  (7 children)

He signed the QO, which was his right under the rookie contract. They could have denounced his rights altogether, cutting him, but short of that this is as little as they could do.

[–]CanadaJMoon33 12 points13 points  (6 children)

He signed the QO

The QO that the Hornets offered him despite knowing he was a wife beater. That's all I'm saying.

[–]Hawkshumancartograph 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Agreed but I believe they offered that long ago before these incidents. Like I said, they could cut him altogether.

[–]Spursalbinojustice 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They could have rescinded that in the interim but decided not to. Like they had every opportunity to make it so he didn't get paid that $8 million but they wanted to let this all blow over.

[–][CHO] Terry RozierWeathrNinja 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It’s been pointed out to me that the problem with cutting him now is he just gets to keep all his salary, which both doesn’t give him any immediate financial consequences and costs the team money. I’d bet we see his name on the roster for months, but he doesn’t play until after the court case is settled. And if he’s found guilty they’ve got reasonable cause to terminate the contract without paying him a single penny

[–]Cavaliersbr0b1wan 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Didn't Ja punch an underage kid?

[–]NBAIkuwayo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[Kai Jones uses drugs]

Hornets: “GET THE FCK OUT NOW.”

[Bridges physically assaults his wife twice]

Hornets: “Boy, this is a tough one.”

[–]Knicksknickstapeeee 375 points376 points  (8 children)

the hornets need some of that sage that kyrie was burning in brooklyn

[–]San Diego ClippersBaby_Yod4 156 points157 points  (7 children)

Mf they need a whole exorcism. There’s gotta be some demons in the hornets facility at this point

[–]WarriorsBarrelled_Chef_Curry 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Yeah few small children at least

[–]Trail Blazers2drawnonward5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They just sacrificed a goat owner. let's give them a season to see how that went.

[–]sewsgup 352 points353 points  (20 children)

so this is for the January warrant, and not the billiard balls warrant (which has not yet been served)

Bridges is also set to be served a criminal summons for an Oct. 6 allegation of violating a protection order, misdemeanor child abuse and injury to personal property.

That criminal summons had not yet been served as of Friday morning, per court documents.

[–][NBA] Alperen Şengüneveryoneneedsaherro 234 points235 points  (15 children)

Wait… he has 2 different warrants?

[–]HeatNational-Size-7205 385 points386 points  (11 children)

Yeah but I'm more than confident he can pick up a few more before it's all said and done.

[–]Pacerspezasied 208 points209 points  (4 children)

His warrants per 36 is off the charts

[–]WarriorsBarrelled_Chef_Curry 46 points47 points  (2 children)

These are the advanced stats we need

[–]San Diego Clippersdead-serious 25 points26 points  (1 child)

what's his PER this season Prison Efficiency Rating

[–]RaptorsPrayForMojo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately he’s still under the threshold for prison minutes.

[–]CelticsTrickiestToast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh so now it’s not cool to catch ‘em all? Smhing my head

[–]HornetsSaulPepper 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I honestly thought the January warrant was the violation of being near to the victim, which included the billiard ball, but Im wrong. Honestly its just too much rn and I hate to read about this. Hornets just cut the losses and let him go man

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So he has two restraining order violations. The first one in January we don’t know anything about it the second one last week, which is when he threw the Billards at her car.

The last one is an all time stupid move, she came to his house and he steps outside and engages her, that immediately breaks the restraining order, and he’s immediately in the wrong for that and deserves it for being so Damn stupid

[–]HeatMaydietoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

27 days...27 warrants

[–]Bullscrummybummywummy 18 points19 points  (1 child)

what. you don’t? get those numbers up

[–]Lakersnoetheb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this stage I don't think I'll make the Hornets roster.

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsRaptors2017champs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]KingsCarne_Asada_Friez 20 points21 points  (1 child)

[–]Wizardsjesteratp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]Gripfighting 68 points69 points  (5 children)

I'm not proud of it one bit, but 13 years ago I got nabbed for shoplifting as an idiot kid. My bail from attempting to shoplift one bottle of liquor was $25,000. I sat in jail for the weekend, and the judge wound up being so horrified by that outcome that he dropped any charges at my arraignment, which was kind of him.

Every time I see a famous person's bail, it really pops to me how fucked over a people with public defenders are. There's just no way the real law is that a crime of violence in 2023 warrants only 1/25th the bail that the pettiest possible shoplifting teenage loser did in 2010.

[–]BucksSamCarter_SGC 44 points45 points  (0 children)

shoplifting teenager $25,000 bail

has never been 50 miles away from his home town ... flight risk!

that's messed up

[–][PHO] Leandro BarbosaFrisbee17 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's that way so poor people can't get out

[–]paxusromanus811 218 points219 points  (32 children)

If he's still on the roster by opening night I will have lost a good amount of respect for everyone involved with the Charlotte hornets front office

[–]ThunderJustGimmeAnyOldName 134 points135 points  (15 children)

If I had any respect left for Adam Silver, it would be gone if he's still in the league by opening night.

[–]paxusromanus811 57 points58 points  (11 children)

I don't know if I was just dumb or not paying attention but when silver first took over I felt like he did a lot of things that came off like he really gave a damn outside of just making as much money as possible. But yeah I wouldn't say I have a lot of respect currently left for him.

[–]NuggetsPumpoozle 51 points52 points  (7 children)

Silver’s whole thing is to give the teams more autonomy and power to deal with things like this themselves

[–]Kingskyler_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

States rights!!

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsRaptors2017champs 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Unless youre Philly. Then you get your GM fired and replaced by the poster boy for nepotism.

[–]FirmlyThatGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]NapTimeFapTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FTC forever (fuck the Colangelos)

[–]Bulls91-92-93--96-97-98 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Totally agree but when the teams are incompetent in the very end it hurts the product as a whole. You can only allow teams so much autonomy before it hurts the league indirectly. NBA cares more about perception/PR and this is not a good look.

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, the hornets have let the league officers run point on this situation.

[–]ThunderJustGimmeAnyOldName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is totally fair. Maybe my memory is a bit off, but wasn't the Donald Sterling thing just after he became commissioner? When that happened, I remember thinking Silver seemed like a no-nonsense commissioner who would protect the league's image. But the league looks absolutely horrible in this situation.

[–]Mavericksd7h7n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's anyone who gets hired into a management position their first year. They either fuck shit up so good or so bad. And then absolutely nothing changes until there needs to be change.

[–]Trail Blazers2drawnonward5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way his voice waivered when he said "FOR LIFE" made me joke to buddies that he's a scaredy cat. I was joking in the moment because scaredy cat is a fun term we didn't use enough back then (or now) but he's exuded the same shaky confidence since then.

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

…. They literally can’t do anything to him until after the court date. So he will be on a roster opening night.

[–]Raptorsrealsomalipirate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The NBA players union is far too strong for any move like that and I wish fans here would at least acknowledge that fact. The hornets could easily cut him though.

[–]Familiar_Loss3136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silver has to go through legal, the owners, and the NBAPA to take any action on this, and the bigger the action the more complicated it would be. No way the players association would just acquiesce to a lifetime ban, so I dont know why people are imagining that this would come instantly

[–]MagicJonathank92 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Obviously bridges is wrong but lmao be for real. You think anyone in the league cares about your “respect”? 😂 they’re going to do what’s right for their bottom line every time and you and others will continue to tune in

[–]HeatMaydietoday 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly, if you lose respect but still consume then there’s no point in even mentioning it.

[–]NBAaiden3buckets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, I think it has to be a long drawn out process, I don’t think most teams would just release him just yet

[–]archerarcher0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had basically none left personally

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsRaptors2017champs 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They were so quick to act when it was KPJ. I dont get why Miles is being treated better when his situation is much worse.

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 10 points11 points  (0 children)

KPJ is worse in their eyes, it’s a WNBA player, so an employee of theirs and by all reports she was asleep when he started beating on her.

[–][CHO] Terry RozierWeathrNinja 1 point2 points  (4 children)

He will be. Opening night is a week and a half away and regardless of his obvious guilt there’s too much with the legal process just now starting. Would you rather him get his full salary because he was cut without legal cause or wait for the the league to be able to void his contract?

Him being on the roster doesn’t matter as long as he isn’t getting paid, which he won’t be at least until the suspension is up, but by then we’ll have legal justification and clarity to at suspend him indefinitely.

[–]deanereaner 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Him being on the roster does matter, because this is being reported as "Hornets Player," not "former NBA player." If the organization had any dignity they'd cut him immediately and eat the 8 million he's supposed to get paid this year.

[–]Hornetscaptyossarian1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost that shit a decade ago

[–]Bullsthepobv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the NBA

[–]LakersMiopTop 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Which one?

[–]Hornetsjaemoon7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was none other than Larry Johnson

[–]Warriorswallowsworld 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Damn, next time just slap his wrist and tell him “stop being naughty!!” That’ll teach ‘em 👍

[–]usernamesmen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]Nuggetscagemyelephant_ 9 points10 points  (9 children)

Imagine if the guy is able to play this season

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 9 points10 points  (7 children)

It’s a legit possibility. Charlotte media is already hearing rumblings he’ll be fine.

[–]HornetsVegetable-Tooth8463 3 points4 points  (1 child)

No way lol

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I imagine it’s some info we don’t know otherwise it sounds insane to say this so early.

[–]turdmcburgular 1 point2 points  (4 children)

0% chance

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It’s more than 0, I wouldn’t call it a large percentage but the deciding factor in that depends on things we don’t currently know

[–]turdmcburgular 1 point2 points  (2 children)

We know he’s (previously) violated his probation 3 times since being signed. He’s already serving a 30 game suspension for an incident in ‘22 and that caused a lot of uproar from the fan base. I don’t think there’s anyway the new ownership lets this slide. He’s done being a hornet.

[–]Gangstakitty187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Espn is gonna make jalen rose put on the white turtle neck and glasses combo and ask bridges if he’s sorry lmao

[–]NuggetsSyndana23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–][SAS] Derrick WhiteKuyaJohnny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mitch will cut this guy before the weekend is over.

[–]Sunsdmackerman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Come on, Charlotte. This dude is a fucking menace, clearly doesn’t have his head on straight.

Do the right thing and start him!

[–]Altruistic-Drawing25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't begin to stress how easy it is to not be a criminal piece of shit.

[–]clutchutch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saw the headline and wasn’t even sure which Hornets player they were referring to

[–]SpursModsEmbezzleMoney 6 points7 points  (11 children)

Charlotte you really haven't released this dude yet? We released a dude for flashing his dick, and you still have a guy who pummeled and has continued to harass this woman.

[–]Pelicansilovethisforyou 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Rose is still playing. Billups and Kidd are coaching. Kobe got a statue. Primo got signed. The NBA does not give a single fuck about women

[–]SpursModsEmbezzleMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? they do so much for the WNBA though /s

[–]San Francisco Warriorsdemocrenes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charlotte Hornets forward turns himself in

Which one?

[–]HornetsProxx99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong Hornets fan (a phrase which itself sounds like a joke) I do not know why Charlotte sports is so cursed. It’s truly something. I mean statistically you’d think we would be due a break at some point soon but no, it just seems to get comically worse at every major inflection point.

[–]Lakersheshouldgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people act like Adam Silver could do something 😭

[–]HornetsHornetsMasochist 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Im with yall that this doofus needs to be out of the league, I just think that's wishful thinking. Time and time again we have been shown in sports that if you can do cool stuff with a ball, that's the only thing a lot of teams really care about. Bridges has already done disgusting stuff and was scheduled to be back on the court in a couple months. Sadly I don't think this is gonna be much different. If not Charlotte, it would be someone else.

[–]BucksUnsuspectingS1ut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally I’d agree but he forgot to do the thing where he at least plays a little in between arrest warrants

[–]WarriorsyOjiMbOoOs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude screwed up his life big time. Had a bag coming and fucked it up with less than 24 hrs left to sign the contract

[–]henrytecumsehclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bout to be prison league MVP

[–]Bullsamity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait is this another incident? Or just the one?

I auto drafted him in fantasy on top of being the 12th pick, so I'm off to a rough start and this isn't helping. I'd have some strong words for him for sure he's cause me quite the inconvenience

[–]Heterosapien_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild things are happening in Charlotte right now.

[–]Winter_Corner7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1K bond? For a repeat offender? Ridiculous.

[–][PHI] Joel EmbiidWill_Explode8 8 points9 points  (12 children)

The league needs to put some initiative on looking into the Hornets organization. For one, they are so far wasting the career (LaMelo) of one of the only talents they've been able to actually acquire since Kemba. Secondly, they are actively putting out a product so harmful it's disrespectful to the fanbase and the local community with all the taxpayer money they have put into the arena through numerous renovations and large scale additions (for essentially only the Hornets benefit!!)

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 18 points19 points  (10 children)

You got to stop looking at hornets are incompetent memes and actually think about basketball, the hornets have had bad breaks but it’s not a single roster move the hornets have done that’s basketball malpractice.

[–]tandtz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crazy that we had a season derailed by a bunch of injuries to key players and bridges being scum and somehow everyone forgot that the year before the hornets were playing super entertaining basketball with one of the best offences in the league, and since then they've added a real center and young 3&d wings.

Are they responsible for a shit culture? Maybe? Probably? None of us are in that locker room to know. But they have made good roster moves for the last 4-5 years

[–]RaptorsNatsuAru 3 points4 points  (1 child)

When was the last time anyone outside of Hornets fans thought "man this team plays pretty okay" when the team gets a case almost every 2 months?

Your team has a bad rep, man. Reddit doesn't even need to meme it to see that your players essentially shoot themselves on the foot. And a logical reason behind it is that the culture is allowing them to do it.

What's the point of thinking roster moves when the players force it themselves in this way?

[–]HornetsTitanstheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People where have literally been talking about how the hornets are a sleeper play off team all summer, that and how the O/U is way too low. I’m not even arguing we don’t have a bad Rep we do it’s been a bad year. Our rep isn’t they need to take the hornets from Charlotte bad, or Jordan is the second worst owner in nba history bad, like people on social media (including Reddit) are saying.

[–]hostileclowns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the wrong reaction to the Bridges situation .

[–]Spurs [SAS] Tim Duncanketoburn26 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Meyers Leonard: Says a slur word, wanted to be better, made strides to be a better person towards the community he slurred against, nothing

Miles Bridges: Be an actual piece of shit human being, still in an NBA roster

[–]plexiglassmass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leonard also had a few other things stacked against him, namely the inability to compete at the NBA level at that point

[–]WarriorsArooooooooooooooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Way to tell on yourself bub. Leonard was already headed out of the league due to injuries. He's even talked about exactly that. He was on IR when his shit happened.

[–]RaptorsMrPangus 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I mean despite all this he's still making millions is why he hasn't learned yet

[–]HolyGhostSpirit33 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Because he’s not stupid so there’s nothing to learn. He just doesn’t care and he’s a giant dickhead.

[–]BullsMuletownSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't have been allowed to bond out. He's clearly a danger to those around him. Put him in a cage and throw the fuckin' key away.

[–]cantcooklovefood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So which player do we think is gonna sympathize/support this asshole first?

[–]Discipleoflight- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Brandon miller still start for them?
