Laura Loomer: ‘There’s No Word For Rape In Arabic’

On Apr. 30, 2024, white nationalist Laura Loomer interviewed Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (a.k.a. “Tommy Robinson”) — a virulent Islamophobe and former member of the white supremacist British National Party. During the interview, Loomer claimed that “there’s no word for rape in Arabic” because they “believe it’s okay to rape women.”

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon railed against Muslims for picking and choosing which verses in the Qur’an to abide by. “It’s not a buffet,” Yaxley-Lennon declared. “You can’t just take the good parts. You can’t pick a nice, pretty verse and take it, and ignore the ones that promote rape of non-Muslim women.”

He also demanded to know why pro-Palestinian protesters aren’t “speaking up for all the British women, all the European women, who are currently being raped in the hundreds of thousands.”

“Well they think it’s okay. They think it’s okay,” Loomer interrupted. “And they even deny that women — now they’re tryin’ to say that women were not raped on October 7. And a lot of people don’t know this but there’s no word for rape in Arabic. There’s no word for rape in Arabic because they actually believe that it’s okay to rape women because Muhammad did it.”

“Muhammed took women as sexual slaves, and so there actually isn’t a direct translation of the word rape in Arabic,” she continued. “Did you know that?”

(There is, of course, an Arabic word for rape.)

Yaxley-Lennon also decried sexual abuse in Britain perpetrated by Muslim men — something he called “rape jihad.”

“It’s large groups of Muslim men target[ing] non-Muslim women,” he said. “Sexually grooming them from children and raping them as children. In those cases, in the U.K., 90% of those convicted follow Islam. 30% of the men convicted of these crimes are called Muhammad. 30% called Muhammad.”

Loomer also claimed that “the number one baby name in the U.K. is Muhammad.” (At one point, Muhammad was debatably the most popular boys’ name in the U.K., although this may no longer be the case.) But Yaxley-Lennon replied that it’s “the most popular name for pedophiles and rapists,” which is “not to be celebrated.
