Is it me or does OPL seem way more tame than Live PD? I have been getting really bored with OPL. Lots of long, boring dialogue for mundane calls (loitering calls, noise disturbances, etc). It seems like the OPL crew rarely has high risk stops (such as felony stops), whereas LivePD has tons of action and drama. I never thought I would get bored with this show, but here I am.

Before the downvotes flow in, I like still like the show. Butttt yeah man, it’s just not the same (to me at least). I know they are trying to protect the show and whatnot but man it feels so watered down now.
Every time a situation pops off that really gets my attention or highlights the job all we hear is, “Delicate situation let’s back off the cameras” or “we will come back to this” which we don’t.
Like yeah the triple plays and prerecorded stuff are pretty entertaining but man I’m having a hard time with the live segments. I just remember so much more rawness and realness on Live PD compared to just endless vanilla traffic stops or cat rescues or just misdemeanor encounters.
I would really love to see the show get picked up by an HBO or Showtime or whatever where we could really get back to the rawness and realness of what these cops see instead of scratching the surface in the most timid way possible.

No more TV for Chody. Darn.

“Alaska PD” brings viewers to America’s Last Frontier, where the line between civilization and lawlessness can be razor thin. Chronically shorthanded police departments across the state must turn to officers from the Lower 48 to fight a soaring crime rate. For the “newbies” it is a trial by fire as they learn first-hand that policing, like everything else, is different in Alaska.
