I see people on second hand sites selling like 7 year old Kindles for like 80% of the retail price? Do people pay these ridiculous prices? I would rather pay the extra 20% + tax to get: a new device, that has the most recent tech, and with a warranty too, also a return policy if anything goes wrong.

Was it worth buying the kindle ? i have a hard time taking my physical book copy everywhere i go with me so i was thinking about getting a kindle but I don’t know how kindle unlimited works or how the kindle works in general so i wanted to know people opinions! let me know anything I should know before buying it and what kind of model since they have sooo many 😅😅😅

Was Herbert heavily influenced by the modernists? Writers like Joyce, Faulkner, or Woolf? I can't believe it has taken me until Chapterhouse to notice, but so much of the style is presented in a stream-in-consciousness manner that was so popular with the writers listed above. Is there a link?

What are your best guesses from when a new version of the Paperwhite will get released. I'm currently using a very old version and want to upgrade, but not if a new one will be coming soon.

A friend is a major bookworm and owns a Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. Tried googling around for ideas but I figured I'd ask this sub for recommendations. I want to get her some relevant accessories!

I’ve had a kindle paper white since 2020 and have had no issues! Recently though, I’ll be reading and the menu will randomly pop up at the top of the screen, as well as the control center to turn off airplane mode/bluetooth/ settings etc. Has this been an issue for anyone else? It’s so frustrating! I don’t want to have to buy a new one.

I hate this feature. I turn it off on books and then later when I come back it’s back on. Even when I am in airplane mode it turns itself back on. Does anyone else know a way to more firmly turn this off across the entire library ?

Hi! I’m finally taking the plunge to get a Kindle. I’m searching for recommendations on which would be best for me! Specifically, I enjoy reading outside in the sunshine with my sunglasses on. This is obviously no problem with a physical book, but I know it’s impossible to read most screens.

I read 1-2 books a month. I know Kindle has some free options and I was reading up on the Libby app as well, but any advice and insight is appreciated!

I bought this RF page turner yesterday and it came in today:

It works great on my iPad, but will not work with my Kindle Scribe. If I clip it to the top of the Scribe and press the button, it does show the top menu that should pop up. But if I slide it anywhere down the side of the Scribe, I can't get it to work. I tried it a different distances from the edge. Nothing will get it to work.

Then I played with turning pages just using my finger and I noticed that sometimes I need to swipe my finger 2 or 3 times for the page to turn. Other times, it will turn with just one swipe. Now I am wondering if my Scribe has screen issues.

Opinions? I wish I had my Paperwhite with me, so I could compare the two.
