Anatomy of the carriage scene
false

Who are we kidding, this is just another excuse to talk about this scene. Like so many, I’ve been trying to figure out why I can’t get it out of my mind. 😅

It was beautifully executed. Much of this has already been mentioned numerous times, but I have to break it down here for myself:

1 - First base kissing begins … sweet and hot but still somewhat measured. Colin is eager but also led by Penelope’s cues, so everything is focused on kissing.

2 - Penelope touches his hair. Like so many have said, this unleashes him. He loves it and then practically lunges at her for the next round of kissing and second base activities enter! 🥵 As others mentioned even just hours earlier, he definitely followed her cues. If she wanted to stop anything he would stop. Lots has been said about consent, and everything he does is in response to her response, sighs and enthusiasm … not to mention the way she watches what he’s doing to her! Toward the end of this round, as he pulls back, she doesn’t seem to want to break the kissing. Neither does he, but he has other ideas…

3 - I blush to write about the third base round, but we’ve all seen it!😂 I don’t have to say much. Others have commented on consent and how Colin watches her carefully to check in … and how he seems to enjoy her reactions. It’s all about her pleasure. What really gets me is toward the end, how he’s then hiding/kissing in the crook of her neck, laying there hanging on for dear life as she’s being …er, finished off. You get the sense that he’s laser focused but that he’s also barely holding it together. He’s never experienced this with the woman he loves; to see her undone because of him must be the single most thrilling thing ever. No wonder he wanted the carriage to keep on driving!

Anyway, I can’t get over it. My words don’t do justice. Apologies to those who feel differently, but I’m glad the next episodes are still weeks away. I don’t think I can handle being so transfixed on any more scenes. I’m already on overload with the carriage, first kiss, Colin’s dream, cake scene, and the staring/near-kiss ball scene. 😅🔥

Penelope Has Never Actually Agreed to Dance with Colin

💃🕺In S1, Colin tells Cressida he can’t dance with her because he’s already promised that dance to Penelope (lie). So he never asked and she didn’t agree. But they dance.

🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️Then at the end of S1, he asked her to dance and she says no.

💃🕺Then in S2, Colin just grabs her and says “we are dancing”. Our girl has no choice.

💃🕺Now in S3, Colin cuts in and Penelope doesn’t get to agree to the dance or not.

I cannot wait for the back half of S3 because I NEED to finally see Colin ask and for Penelope to say yes.

eloise feminism is valid

i don’t get how people say eloise is a ‘pick me girl’ when that is not the case. She literally called out a man who was downplaying women to compliment her. While Eloise can come off as rude at times, like when she judged the embroidery of the girl, it’s because she is judging the fact the girl is doing that for men. Like, that’s the point she’s trying to make, women in her society do everything to please or impress a man, and that’s why she is critical of their ‘hobbies’.

Like, you cannot use our time to judge her feminist analysis. Her entire life is dependent on a man, god forbid she is sick of talking or hearing about them or things cratered towards them. She simply wants women to have their own hobbies, ones that bring only them joy. While she may not understand that is not feasible for everyone, she is learning as she is you know, A TEEN! We literally saw her gather opinions from women of a lower class, she is attempting to apply their knowledge to herself and high society in hopes to achieve some type of freedom!

Give her grace! I don’t understand how people just write her off as ‘white woman feminism’ when… it’s not. She doesn’t have the best approach, but her intention are there and she has a good heart.

I feel like SATC Miranda would hate AJLT Miranda

Yes it's another one of those posts lol. I am almost done hate-watching Season 1 and just needed to get this out of my chest. Overall I feel betrayed as a fan of the original SATC, but especially how Miranda (who has always been my fave character) is now a completely different character.

One of the best things about her in SATC is how secure she was in her self identity. She was a high-power lawyer (didn't she become partner??) who knew what she wanted, didn't plan on becoming a mother but embraced it and seemed to have found her match in Steve. That bridge scene in the first SATC movie--hello??

I don't understand how they could undo all that character development and turn her into this manic person with an identity crisis. Super random, but didn't she have Tivo and a Blackberry before anyone else in the show did? She was the most tech-savvy even back in the 90s and you're telling me she prefers to carry heavy books over a Kindle. I know it's a little thing but just shows this is a completely different character. And they turned Steve into a bumbling deaf old husband to justify her decision to leave him I guess. So upsetting. Does it get worse in S2?

“Did you think that I would care that she had fond feelings for another?”

This is from season 1. Pen tries to tell Colin that Marina loves George Crane and not him and that there have been love letters exchanged etc. Colin is unperturbed.

Compare this to s3 Colin who is absolutely feral the moment Pen so much as THINKS about another guy. LOL.

What Netflix spin offs would you want to see?

My top picks:

  1. Violet and Edmund’s love story. Follow the social season where they get married. We could see more of Queen Charlotte once she’s been Queen for a few years. Lady Danbury’s continued struggle for equal rights for black noble people and affair with a HOT person. Easter eggs with young Lady Featherington and Lady Cowper and other families that are named in the main bridgerton series. The season ends with Anthony’s birth, similar to the epilogue in season 1 where Daphne gives birth.

  2. Not necessarily a full 6 episode season, but would love a 90 minute movie special for Kanthonys wedding. + honey moon in India. Would love to see them travel to India since it’s such a huge part of Kate’s identify. And obviously would love to see their wedding since they did them dirty in season 2.

Intruding on the brooding

Okay, so this is a very tiny scene but I haven’t seen it discussed elsewhere, and no detail seems to be too small for our ravenous appetites, so…

In episode 4, Violet goes to Colin in the study, where he’s in his journal and has the curtains drawn. She says she thought she might find him in there. His, “I am found,” is soooo depressed. 💔 and his mood is so generally out of sync with hers and you can just feel he wants her to go away.

She tries to get him to be on the Samadani call, and when he (obviously wanting to rot instead) says he’ll eat all the biscuits, we just feel how certainly he has lost his entire appetite.

It takes until the evening for Colin to actually snap at Violet, but he’s already in just. So. Much. Pain. And the way he says everything in such a light tone here—DAMN. It’s so light, but it’s chilling.

LUKE! DAMN! 😦

None of the Cullens died, Bella had super self control and never killed a human, she was able to keep Charlie in her life so didn’t have to deal with the grief of losing her human family after changing (although, her mom was just never heard of again lol). Also, she never had to wish for a child she couldn’t have, because of course she got unexpectedly pregnant during the short period of time she was human and married. I don‘t know, I enjoy the book but now that I’m older, I realized it would be a lot better if there was something less perfect about the ending.

Mutual Pleasure Is Sexy

First off, I want to say I love this sub's whole vibe and positivity. I've been lurking for the past week or so and have enjoyed reading your thoughts. :-)

Second, excuse my horniness for a second, but can we talk about the mutual pleasure that's been had so far? Yes, Penelope probably got a little bit more, but the first kiss and the carriage ride showed how much they were both into it. The moans from both of them. Colin getting to touch and taste where he wanted (👀 boobs). Penelope touching his face and hair and giving him that affection he's needed/longed for. It's more than I can bear at times and I'm so looking forward to Part 2's scenes.

And no shade to the Kate and Anthony scenes, it is nice to see female pleasure and men being giving, but for me I love when it's a mutual thing because it shows how intimate and connected they are emotionally as well as it shows the selflessness of each partner and how in tune which each other they are.

Can we talk about the “lessons”?
false

More specifically noting what he says when they are in the market.

Before this scene, Colin says “charm can be taught” aka you can create a persona like me to get the outcome you desire. He then wants to observe her to give feedback later… but…

I believe this is when he starts being charmed by Pen because of what he says to her next in the market:

  • you don’t need a lesson

  • you already know what ur doing

Like Colin, baby, are YOU charmed by Pen?

I’m fully convinced hanging out with her again for a longer period of time was the reminder he needed of why he likes her. He feels very grounded and seen by her 🥹 I think her comfortability around him allowed her to charm him unintentionally & he was swooning.

He couldn’t wait to see her next (late my ass) and then proceeds to tell her she was charming in their youth & that all she has to do is be herself and everything will fall into place (take ur own damn advice Colin)

Anyways, I think this is a fun part of the show that demonstrates how much he’s always admired her and how, despite us seeing how she is with other gentlemen, he believes she is perfect the way she is 🥹 Ugh my heart 💛

Thoughts anyone??
