What story does the Sword of Truth come from? Curse you Terry Goodkind!

Hi everybody I really loved the name drop of the Sword of Truth in Neverafter, and I was wondering if anyone knew where that concept came from?

Tried to do research on it myself and all that came up were Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind the first of which I loved years ago, and the rest I did not.

Everything wrong with Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth

I know I may be late to the party, but I just stumbled across my old old copies of the Sword of Truth series, I tried glancing at Faith of the Fallen again and was immediately turned off.

I had forgotten how atrociously bad the books became. Granted WFR was enjoyable, and forgivable. After that.... it goes downhill rapidly.

I’d love to know what everyone’s rage quit moment was in the SOT series, or your favourite “worst/ bad” moments from the series
