New York Bling Empire is not as rich as LA Bling Empire...

As much as I enjoyed watching New York Bling Empire, I realised that nearly everyone on the show isn't as rich as they claim to be based on facts and mannerisms. I may be completely wrong so please correct me if I get anything wrong.

LA bling empire had extremely wealthy cast. Annas family was in the weapon industry to Christine being able to rent out the whole of Rodeo drive, one of LA's most well known streets. I also realised no one of the LA show had any reason to prove that they were rich. What I mean by this is that Anna never flaunted her wealth and frankly didn't care about others because she's THAT rich. We're literally introduced to her through her smashing her closet.

Everyone on the LA show had legitimate names in the real world, including Kane. (Kevin is the exception in all of this). Dr Chu and Christine are very rich and they're a household name in America, whilst Kane literally owns buildings and malls in Singapore.

Comparing this to NY bling empire, everyone seems mildly tame. I know it was pretty rude of Dorothy to complain about there not being any food at Deborahs anniversary gallery thing, but she's got a point. They rented out a gallery with no food or any extravagance whatsoever compared to LA bling empire's Mimi's anniversary party where it was very well executed and had plenty of food. I'm bringing this up because simple can be better at times and Deborah doesn't need to go all out but her and husband are literally on the brink of bankruptcy and are having big financial issues behind the scenes. Which kind of explains why they weren't in NY as much as the others.

I'm also going to mention Richard. Richard is just annoying overall but he is not rich whatsoever compared to everyone else. On LA bling empire, no one barely asks anyone for favours (exception of Kevin), no one asked to donate money, their belongings, their time, no one asked each other to post regularly about their buisness endeavours. Unlike Richard who constantly has to state that he's an "executive chief" (I forgot what he does for work) and try to fit in with everyone else. He even mentions his jealousy that everyone is so well-off.

Also Nam. I don't think Nam is as rich as she claims to be. She kept making remarks about how she's seen better mansions and that "daddy will pay for it" but in my opinion, if you're truly that rich you wouldn't need to make statements like that. For example, Jamie from Bling Empire, her wealth was always shown through her fashion choices or when people would ask her about it. Also her parents are funding for her lifestyle but she never made any statements saying "daddy will pay for it". Also Nam's dad calling her for spending $10,000 was so... weird? I dont know if it was staged or not but $10,000 should be nothing to her dad and it was at a no brand name store as well. Her also working at burger king was really weird.

These are just my thoughts...

I watched a few episodes and enjoyed it. It has

  1. Lifestyle porn with fancy houses, cars, food

  2. Life in LA and they all actually live in LA not the suburbs

  3. All Asian cast that are truly friends

Also they show Asian food and talking about the different Asian cultures which is awesome.

So, this season is the worst out of all...

I feel like all the drama is fabricated, the friendships are fake and the plots really simple. It's just a show to have it as a background noise.

From the 1st episode it was kind of hard to watch it and very dull... Bling Empire, more like Boring Empire.

The fake and the surface drama continues. The Andrew redemption was just stupid, I feel like Drew had a few more days of filming in the contract or smth, and from the start, why would he go to Anna? I feel like they never had any type of relationship and the whole convo seemed very forced.

The Christine and Jaime situation.. I was quite shocked to see Jaime speak up because I thought she was shy and minding her own bussiness. I feel like she could've said it differently and not mention that Christine would be jealous of her, but her outfit was fire in that scene, I adore it.

Kelly's story with that guy seemed so manufactured.

Kane: I still dislike him and I don't understand why he is a good representation for the Asian community being the face of Fenty, but this might be another advertisement stunt for the brand, even bad publicity is still publicity.

Christine had the most genuine stories and the best ones imo. She for sure grew in my eyes this season. I loved the relationship between her and Dr. Chiu.

I could've lived without Anna this season, she didn't bring anyting to the table same for Kelly and pretty much everyone except Christine.

So, I feel like this season was overall bad and I don't think there will be another season or if it will be, I don't think I will watch it.

Anyways, I am looking forward to The Bling Empire Dubai :))

  1. Dorothy

F**king cool, effortless. Everytime she’s on screen she’s looking at people like “wtf are they doing” which is probably an accurate evaluation. Also takes one look at Kane and sees right through his wannabeness.

2. Kelly

Sweet, chill, rich without being overbearing, but yet has the right amount of drama and sass.

3. Jaime

Such a fashionista, so eloquent, so chill. I just wonder what she does for a living?

I like the chill people, can you tell? Bonus points for Dr. Chiu, who I wanna see more of in Season 3 please!

My pick is Dubai Bling, the cast personalities may be awful but at least its enjoyable or tolerable for the viewers. Plus my favorite cast members are Zeina, Safa, LO & Mona. Unlike Bling Empire who have awful personalities but boring except for Christine, she's my favorite. She's needs her own show!

Bling Empire LA cast vs. Bling Empire NY cast

I’m so glad that Dorothy brought her ass from LA to NY and gave a glimpse of what’s behind all that gold and glitter. If I see a cast member from NY down the street, I’d be like that person is successful and has it all… but in truth, I love how vulnerable they are because aren’t we all vulnerable as human beings? We feel stressed. We feel how it’s like when girls go out with a bang and then we feel like a prey where hawk eyes are upon us… and thank you Tina for showing that. There’s just so much to unpack in this season of Bling Empire in NY… I love it as opposed to Bling Empire LA. I felt the LA one was so boring and Kane was trying to make it entertaining by stirring up stupid fake drama. NY was raw and it was cool to see after all that, it can be fun. Love it! For sure Bling Empire had my PQ ;)
