Married to Medicine: Los Angeles

Just finished watching Married to Medicine: LA for the first time now that it's on Peacock. Some random thoughts:

• Dr. Imani was probably my favorite person overall. It's unfortunate the show ended right when she was beginning to open up more/explore a new chapter in her life.

• Dr. Britten definitely had some cringe moments but is likable and helped keep the group accountable. It makes sense that she's friends with Contessa.

• Shanique and Jazmin are a classically chaotic duo. That seems key to any kind of "Married to Medicine" show.. Especially with the doctors' wives being messy, lol

• Jazmin is like an alternate universe version of Ashley from RHOP.. Except her husband was nowhere to be found. We wish the same could be said for Michael.

• Season 2 had good additions in Dr. Kendra and Lia. I thought it was funny that Dr. Heavenly managed to irritate Kendra within seconds of meeting her lol

• Not sure why Asha didn't return from season 1 but I would've liked to see more of her career as an actress. It looks like she was on Hacks just recently!

Overall I liked the show and would've liked to see more.. Was it cancelled because of the pandemic?

's rooftop event comes to a boil as makes outrageous claims about 's husband. Then, faces off with Imani about her drug dealer comments. Later, goes house hunting to make sure she can stay in LA. When Gaby is forced to deal with issues at school, must decide if she made the right school choice.

It’s Halloween in the city of Angels! Britten, Mack and the Kids experience their first LA trick-or-treat theatrics. Kendra gives Hobart a fright when she gives him news that may upend their lives. Imani is haunted by her wedding anniversary. Shanique scores VIP tickets to the spookiest hayride in the city, but the outing turns into a nightmare when she butts heads with uninvited Lia.

Contessa, Heavenly, Quad and Toya, return to the city of Angels for a girls weekend getaway. Jazmin sets the ladies up in her new luxury Hollywood Hills villa, planning an action packed weekend through her concierge business. Contessa catches up with Dr. Britten and learns some surprising things about the state of her marriage. Heavenly checks in with Imani, whose life has taken a turn. Later, at a cocktail party, Quad tries to mend Imani and Jazmin's friendship, but Heavenly’s slip of the tongue threatens to derail the whole party.

Last call at Jazmin’s cocktail party brings a surprising resolution between her and former nemesis Imani. With Britten’s best friend Contessa and her ATL friends in town, Mack throws an upscale birthday bash for Britten that takes her by surprise. Shanique finds herself in the market for a new career and decides she wants to get into selling luxury real estate. Meanwhile, Dr. Kendra settles into life in a new house with a new baby. When Jazmin and Shanique find out Imani’s husband Phil is out of town they speculate about what’s really going on and when Imani catches wind of these blunt statements, her reconciliation with Jazmin goes up in smoke.

Back in LA from Palm Springs the ladies get down to business. Shanique meets with realtor Josh Altman, who gives her a dose of true tea. Kendra breaks the news to Hobart that she is going back to work full time. Britten and Mack attempt to kick Minie out of their bedroom. Imani faces an uncertain future. Jazmin hosts an end of the year holiday party, but with the other ladies hungry to meet her husband, will she end up on their naughty list if he doesn’t show?

Later, Shanique throws her hubby an epic birthday bash, but tensions brew when Asha is caught off guard when her husband's ex-girlfriend makes an unexpected appearance.

I'm currently just wrapping up season 7* of M2M, an amazing show - a show I only watched because I saw so much praise on Reddit for it!!! - and at the end of the reunion there's a trailer for M2MLA, a show I had no intention of watching - but once I saw that Heavenly, Toya, Quad and Contessa are all on it I decided I needed to at least do some recon.

Should I be watching? Reddit your guidance led me to M2M so I trust you implicitly 😂

Asha puts a pause on her feud with Shanique to take Larry to their first family planning visit. During date night, Robert reveals shocking new information to Shanique about Asha and Larry. Dr. Britten is anxious after learning that her efforts to find a home might be a waste of time. While, Dr. Noelle uses her Eastern approach to treat a patient's anxiety. Later, the ladies attend a Dollhouse Brunch at Jazmin’s Beverly Hills mansion, leading some to question how she can afford her lifestyle.

After Imani’s shocking divorce reveal, the ladies rally around her and head to Palm Springs for a “Sis-cation”. While Kendra is nervous for her first trip without her baby, Jazmin and Lia are ready to turn it up, causing things to get wild on the bus ride. During a naughty gift exchange Shanique surprises Imani with a special package. Britten opens up about her own marital struggles.

Britten is faced with an ultimatum from Mack; Dr. Imani throws a Truth, Trust and Transparency party to finally settle the drama between Shanique and Asha, but new revelations threaten to split the friendship circle wide open.

Imani reveals the devastating truth about her marriage to Britten. Robert surprises Shanique with a birthday party at the ranch, but things get messy when the ladies question Jazmin’s fitness coaching abilities. Britten and Mack attempt to get their spark back during a night away from the kids, while Kendra and Hobart hit a new low. At her Book Cover Party, Imani makes an unexpected announcement that catches all the ladies off guard.

The Palm Springs weekend continues as the ladies hit the town for a social cycle, but Kendra and Jazmin’s fitness relationship threatens everyone's good time. Lia throws a designer labels themed dinner, but Shanique takes the opportunity to air her grievances. Imani takes the spotlight at a drag show. Later, Shanique has doubts about her new career choice and Kendra makes a bold decision that could affect her marriage.

In New Orleans Britten, Imani and Contessa are down for their HBCU's homecoming weekend, but sense something is up with Imani. Kendra, Jaz, and Shanique’s world gets turned upside down as they try their hands at Aerial Yoga. Lia takes her daughter to see Dr. Kendra for her first OBGYN appointment. Later, Imani shares a shocking secret with Britten.

Trying to get the tea on Jasmines husband. Why so MIA?

Heavenly admits to Damon that her mother’s illness is affecting her, and offers a rare apology; Contessa feels for Heavenly, and agrees to put their differences aside.

I’ve tried searching to see if this has been discussed, but I couldn’t find anything. I recently started watching Married to Medicine LA. I’m on season 1, episode 6. Imani is talking to her mom about the relationship with her dad. Her mom made a comment about Imani’s hair falling out after her dad left.

It got me thinking that maybe she had trichotillomania and her solution was to shave her head. My daughter was diagnosed with trich at 10 years old. It is an obsessive compulsive/anxiety disorder where someone has the urge to pull out their hair. It is not always a result of stress or traumatic events, but my daughter started doing it while her dad and I were in a very awful custody battle. We were lucky to catch it early and we got her into treatment. She has been completely urge free for a couple years now. But left untreated, it can be extremely difficult to overcome.

If Imani did suffer from trich, I think it could also explain her becoming a psychiatrist. And I think at this point, she probably just really likes the shaved head look. But trich could be a possible explanation on how it started.

I know it's been posted before but with this subreddit growing and with the premiere of season 9, I thought I'd list out why everyone needs to watch this show and they need to watch it now!

M2M was never on my radar until joining this sub and seeing people stanning for it so hard. It's now my favorite show on Bravo. It's honestly better than any housewives franchise in my eyes because you have one of the most stable/longest-running casts since season 1 of a show and they're all actually friends/in the same community. Their bonds run deep and their relationships aren't all just surface. They discuss real-life issues but they also have petty, fun shade and drama. They have some of the deepest storylines of any show (especially in this modern reality tv era). Lastly, I admire how much they do for their communities and all the giving back they do during their cast trips. They don't just show up somewhere and party but they actually help with their medical missions.

Maybe you can write in the comments what your favorite moments are through the years from M2M and it'll get more people watching! This show deserves more recognition and more people in the discussions!
