Actually not Blake though. Blake never tested positive for a banned substance.

Nobody Is Noticing But The Grizzlies Are Playing CHESS!
Smart for Bruce Brown is just a clear downgrade. Even if you're concerned about Smart's step back last year, Brown's step back was even larger.
Hunter has also consistently been a negative defender in Atlanta.

[Wojnarowski] ESPN Sources: Free agent G Luke Kennard’s has agreed on a new one-year, $11 million contract to stay with the Memphis Grizzlies. Kennard’s a career 44 percent 3-point shooter and a key floor spacer for the Western contender.
I don't even think Kennard should be in the default rotation.
Ja, JJJ, Bane, Smart, Back-up PG, Clarke, Edey, Vince, LaRavia, Jackson is 10, and I'm not sure that there's a clean way for Kennard to replace the weakest points there.

Tyus Jones turned down more money from the grizzlies so he could start
FWIW that report is pretty clearly nonsense. The Hawks were the other team named in it and in order to offer more money than the Suns they would've had to go into the tax, something they very obviously aren't going to do for this team as currently constructed.

I can't conceive of a world where you could possibly think mass posting like that is acceptable.
If you want to post your stuff, you have to participate in the subreddit outside of when you post your own links, and you have to follow the rules around not posting multiple threads in the same day.

I wonder if we’ll use the Room Exception on the final roster spot, or will try to save it for a salary dump trade at the deadline.
I was never actually clear on if the math lined up to where we didn't need to use the room exception to absorb Reggie Jackson's contract, and because it didn't matter for work purposes I never bothered to work it out for myself.

Question - what are mastery crystals ?
Always take the Mastery Crystals. They're far rarer, far more impactful, and far more important to stock up on early.

The thing is though, there just aren't that many serious MLE offers out there anymore. Like I genuinely can't name a team that I think would and could offer him 1 year 8 million, much less a full MLE. Maybe OKC? But that's really the only one with any chance at all.

Is it safe to say that Tyus taking 3.3 is terrible news for Kennard and other free agents? Saw someone else appropriately state that the CBA is killing off the NBA middle class.
Mind you this is a free agency where Naji Marshall got 27 million to be a literal replacement level wing. Goga Bitadze got 25 million to be a DNP-CD in the majority of games. Saddiq Bey got 19 million and he's far below replacement level. And that's not to mention the upper-middle class guys like KCP and Miles Bridges.
The notion of the middle class being dead is not particularly accurate and almost entirely unrelated to the 2023 CBA -- the vast majority of the damage to the middle class was done in the 2017 CBA. Tyus getting screwed is because he has a terrible agent, not because of the CBA.

The reason the new CBA is leading to less middle class salaries, is because teams are being punished for "bad contracts".
It's also worth noting that, while this reason has been given, it also hasn't actually happened.
Virtually every medium sized contract you'd expect to be given out this offseason was given out.
The real problem is the general lack of cap space available, which is the case because of the 2017 CBA's change to how extensions work (which was worsened by the 2023 CBA)
The second apron is a more obvious target, but it's not the actual culprit.

At this point it's really not an issue of money -- Tyus is almost certainly getting a minimum because there's just no market out there.

Yes, that is literally the point. Not good bigs can dominate summer league because the format is to their advantage.

MKG was an all-time great defensive prospect. Amen isn't clear if he's even an average one.

Favorite and least favorite picks of the top 15 a month later/post summer league?
Or if you're able to create your own offense. There's a reason guys like Kenny Lofton Jr., Neemias Queta, and Orlando Robinson have been big winners out of Summer League in the last couple of years. Shoot, if you have any scale for the history of Summer League you'd remember Jaleel Warney killing guys for a few years in there.

The exact opposite of that is true lol -- bigs are heavily favored in summer league. Are you just coming in this thread to make stuff up?
Exhibit 10 doesn't stop him from signing with another team
It literally stops him from signing with another team.
Now, when you cut him following training camp, then at that point he could sign with another team, but any time between now and then, he cannot sign with another team, and on top of that the team has the option to convert his contract to a two-way at any time.

How are we feeling about Salaun?
If no one on this team ever improves from what they currently are, of course. But like guys in their early 20's do generally improve, so there's no cause for alarm yet. I think the bigger long term causes for concern are more infrastructural than pure talent, even though pure talent isn't exactly an advantage either.

He'd be borderline if he had kept up his current small sample level of play while healthy, so I'd call that injuries.
