NRG's dependancy on FNS is extremely embarrassing

NRG's dependancy on FNS is extremely embarrassing

Like shockingly embarrassing. FNS left on his own terms (honestly I don't even know if this is true anymore) and the team consisting of Demon1, Ethan, Marved, Crashies, Victor, and HC Chet ends up shitting the bed entirely. This whole "OPTIC system" we talk about has been proven to be handcrafted by FNS to function for a veteran IGL with his playstyle, a system that should've been completely discarded once he left the roster.

It's as if the offseason never existed for this team. If we can't function without a veteran IGL (which is why they also tried to pick up saadhak right before FNS LOL), then why gamble making Ethan into that kinda IGL instead of just picking one out from the get go? Was the Demon1 & Ethan combo THAT irresistible? I get that world champs = cool but there's a reason why 100T poached Boostio as early as Masters Tokyo.

This all comes at the cost of staining Marved's career because FNS doesn't wanna play without s0m which means a smokes replacement is inevitable and Demon1's career after the breakout he had just last year. I don't think you can write a more embarrassing series of events for the people responsible for these decisions. Rename NRG to Fenis & Friends or something.

My theory on why FNS and s0m are willing to come back to pro play in the middle of the season

My theory on why FNS and s0m are willing to come back to pro play in the middle of the season

Unless both of them are setting up the biggest bait of all time (which does not makes sense due to how well their streams are doing now), I have a theory on why they are both willing to come back despite them being at one point extremely insistent that it does not make sense for them to mid-season.

  1. Besides the obvious money reasons, I think both of them have been guaranteed spots next year (which aligns with their initial intentions of coming back next year only). So regardless how of NRG performs for Split 2, their spots on the roster are safe for 2025. NRG performs bad? That's because they didn't have enough time to prac. NRG does well? It's gonna make both of them look reaaally good (altho Chet is extreme risk here of looking like he is entirely dependent on especially FNS)

  2. I think FNS finally gets to have his say on how he wants to build his roster for next year. If people followed closely enough, there was quite an obvious "falling out" between FNS and the duo (FNS said Crashies lost faith in him and Vanity said that NRG made a mistake of dropping FNS and s0m in favour of the duo). I believe the two might be at risk of getting dropped for next year but since they both fill much needed roles (duelist-flex and initiator), FNS is gonna stick it out with them until the season ends. So we might actually get to see Marved (with s0m becoming the flex player) and maybe even Demon1 come back for next year? I think Ethan is pretty safe because unless you have pretty short memory, he was the BEST support player that NA had last year and IGL-ing has been pretty detriment to his play. Plus, he is a great secondary caller (which is constantly parroted by other pro players).

What are your thoughts? FYI, this is pure speculation on my part but I think it makes the most sense for them to abandon their streams suddenly.
