Seems there's a mature Pinball game from Zen coming soon. Wonder if that's where the Elvira Tables will eventually end up...

As part of the Embracer group's (parent company of Zen Studios) restructuring plan, they are laying off 32 out of 83 employees. That's sad news for digital pinball players. There was a recent collaboration between Zen Studios and ATGames for their new 4K tables too.

[A group of investors] () is paying ~$500m to snag Saber from the failing-hard Embracer Group. Since Zen Studios is wholly owned by Saber, they now have a new baby mama taking care of them.

Hopefully this means things will become more stable for the team going forward.

We are Zen Studios and we are delighted to be back in this sub to talk about our newest Switch release: Pinball FX3!

We fully use the possibilities of the Nintendo Switch with HD Rumble support, horizontal and vertical play -- both docked and handheld! We also took the advice of a certain pinball-loving Nintendo employee and made it possible to play with only one Joy-Con attached in vertical mode for maximum balance! You can play with the Joy-Cons on or off, or just use the touch controls -- you’ll be able to find the playstyle that best suits you.

Pinball FX3 is a free download with the “Sorcerer’s Lair” pinball table and has a bunch of beautifully crafted pinball tables as addons, with physics as close to the real thing as we can get, with effects and events that could only happen in a video game. This blend gives Pinball FX3 its distinct style, which we hope you will all enjoy.

Our themes at launch include some of our original designs, like a table dedicated to Nikola Tesla and Ancient Rome, and also machines based on your favorite shows and movies like Aliens, Family Guy and Back to the Future™!

Some of us in the studio think the Switch version of the game could be the best mobile pinball experience out there.

Welcome to the AMA of Pinball FX! It’s been a long journey but we are finally out on Nintendo Switch with the pinball game for the next generation.

A few words about the game:

The Nintendo Switch version of Pinball FX is currently the home of more than 20 pinball tables inspired by big brands like Star Wars, Godzilla vs. Kong, or Crypt of the NecroDancer. The game is free to download and you can play with 3 tables for free without limitation. You can also build up your customizable 3D playroom with collectible items and play with authentic digital pinball physics. More tables and features are inbound!

It's me here today: got Tamas, visionary and head designer of the game: Chris, Creative Director & Writer of the game: Anna, Game Balance Designer joined us as well!

We are here today, to talk about our newest Switch project CastleStorm II! You might know of the first game which was a charming little adventure game where you got to crash your opponents castle with projectiles, spells, and funny characters. Well II does this and much more!

With CastleStorm II we packed a bunch of more features on top of the core gameplay to give even more to this little world we created. You can now manage the Kingdom (or The Deadrealm) as a whole, in a 4x style strategy game - where you manage resources, build up your realm, gather resources and expore with your hero Heroes 3 style, and advance one of 2 story campaigns to see what shattered the world.

Oh, also we made a rap with the help of the one and only Dan Bull. We are very proud of this, I listened to it probably 10.000 times:

We've got CastleStorm, our rpg-brawler-towerdefense hybrid released on the Switch yesterday, on August 16th! It's been out on PC, other consoles and mobile for some time (even in VR) and now we brought it to the Switch. We think it's a great version and the console is a great place for the game.

Here's a trailer to get an idea what it's all about:

It has local and online multiplayer Castle vs Castle combat, co-op modes and a funny campaign to play through.

Our other games on the Switch are Pinball FX3, Infinite Minigolf and Disco Dodgeball REMIX, all of which we had a great time answering your questions when they got released.
