I've played a lot of darktide and vernintide. But I've moved on and not played for months.
Because of this game I started reading the books and I even got my second fucking tattoo of the inquisition on my whole forearm.
Darktide was a lot of early passion for what it could become in the future. Sky was the limit. And sure hype can and almost always will lead to disappointment but inactive devs, greedy transactions, similar weapons, and a subpar crafting system just dried out. This has/had the potential to be one of my the greatest pve games in years.
They learned nothing from the last two decades of greedy and unfinished games, slapped you in the face with microtransactions for cosmetics to pay for all the delays they had.
FS had hype with amazing trailers and dropped it. What's worse is they have the ability to pick it up and fix it like cyberpunk is doing. But this is looking more like anthem where they will just cut the cord and cut their losses.
I love the Warhammer universe and I can't wait to see what future media brings, but this game should have been so much more.
I'll boot it up a few more times I'm sure. But helldivers has made me realize what gaming has become over the last 20 years.

Edit: for those feeling personally attacked by the audacity to love the game but wishing it was better, boohoo. I have 300 hours in the game, love it but it could've been incredible
