How do you brew? How do you brew?
Discussion

Do you choose your commander first, your pet cards, your colours' combos, your deck's engines, or the general strategy and w/e?

I found that for my first 2 decks back in 2011 or something, I picked Omnath OG and [[maralen of the mornsong]] bc I loved big ramps and stomps. Sharuum came in briefly after that because back then it was the most affordable artifact deck (and I was playing Affinity in Modern at the time).

But from then on and for the past decade, it was all "ok, I wanna throw hands with elementals/vampires/orks/ninjas" and in came [[omnath, locus of rage]], [[elenda, the dusk rose]], [[zurgo helmsmasher]] as Ghazghkull, and [[felix five-boots]]. Very tribal kind of thing.

And then I saw the poster alt art of [[palantir of orthanc]] and it has become an obsession to build a scry/topdeck deck with [[elrond, master of healing]], a thing which i've never played before and it feels SO unsafe to dump so much money on something so contingent xD

What's your thought process when brewing?
