I am afraid to lose 20+ BTC I am afraid to lose 20+ BTC
Solved (user)

I am an early bitcoin investor and have held around 20 BTC on a ledger i purchased in 2020. Recently my ledger stopped lighting up when i plug in the USB-C and I have no idea where my seed phrase is since Ive been holding my coins in cold storage and not accessing them. What can I do? Is there any support to save my device or recover my funds???

edit: THE SCREEN LIT UP MOMENTARILY WHEN BENDING USB CABLE

FINSIBED EDIT!!! WE BENDED THE USB CABLE UPWARDS AND PUSHED HARDER INSIDE, LIGHT LIT UP. HAD MY WIFE HOLD THE CABLE IN THAT POSITION AS I ENTERED PIN I AM IN LEDGER LIVE AND EXTRACTED FUNDS TO WALLET I AM BUYING A NEW TREZOR I AM DONE WITH LEDGER, I WILL SECIURE my seed phrase thank you EVERYONE greatly for your help!! I am not underestimating the recovery phrase EVER again as the only method of recovering crypto seems to be through the seed. thank you all again i am in so much releif i am going to sleep.

Ledger Live vs MetaMask Ledger Live vs MetaMask

Apologies for the potentially stupid question, but I am trying to figure out what the “safer” option is when interacting with dApps.

Would interacting with dApps through MetaMask connected to Ledger essentially be the same security wise as interacting directly from ledger live using wallet connect?

And as a follow up, if I were to add a secondary ETH account on ledger explicitly for dApp interaction, does that completely isolate/protect my main “storage” account if something goes wrong?

Ledger reseller @etherbit in India selling substandard devices with nonsense warranty of 2 years and harrassing their customers Ledger reseller @etherbit in India selling substandard devices with nonsense warranty of 2 years and harrassing their customers

Ledger reseller u/etherbit in India selling substandard devices with nonsense warranty of 2 year... Their warranty policy page contains a clause stating that "the RMA request (the free replacement) is only applicable once during the warranty period." However, this limitation was not made clear on the product page, which prominently advertised a "2 Years Warranty." This discrepancy constitutes misleading information and violates consumer protection laws which can be challanged in the court of law.

Actiually I purchased a Ledger Nano X with a "2 Years Warranty," but now they are refusing to replace my faulty unit, citing a hidden "one-time replacement" clause. This misleading advertising and breach of warranty is unacceptable. I have already sent them the Notice to Honor the full warranty or face legal action. #ConsumerRights #MisleadingAdvertising #Etherbit

Also r/ledgerwallet has created a complaint ticket to help me out with Support Case No: 00004844 But I bought my Ledger nano X from r/Etherbit ... so I will not let go easily... they cant get away with it easily..... They will have to honour me the full 2 yr warranty....

I am a disabled person and totally depend on my crypto income, more delay my matter deliberately ... more I will ask for compansation of losses due to faulty ledger device....

Ledger Phone App vs. Computer Ledger Phone App vs. Computer
Request

I moved some Avalanche off Robinhood yesterday to my Ledger cold wallet. I have the Nano S so no Bluetooth, but I confirmed the transaction went through to my wallet via the computer. I am not yet seeing the Avalanche on my Ledger app on my phone, though. It has been around 15 hours since the move, does anyone have insight as to why I’m not seeing the Avalanche reflecting on my phone app yet?

Thank you in advance!

Storing seed phrase in bank safe or personal safe? Storing seed phrase in bank safe or personal safe?
Discussion

Greetings everyone,

First of all, note for scammers: I will never click on your links or give you my seed phrase, don’t DM me.

I have chosen Ledger as my cold wallet and transferred all my crypto assets on this new wallet.

I was not feeling very secure with having my seed phrase on a piece of paper so I bought the Cryptotag Zeus and put my seed phrase there (they said it’s immune to water, fire, corrosion, bullets…).

Now next step for me is storing this cryptotag somewhere, I’m hesitating between buying a physical safe at my home and storing it there, or put it in a safe in a bank.

At home at least I’m the only one who have access to it (and trusted people), but house can be robbed and I can loose it.

In a bank, I don’t have 100% guarantee that I will be the only one with an access to the seed (chances are high though, that’s the whole purpose of a bank safe), but at least it’s more difficult to rob a bank safe nowadays.

What do you think?

Issue Using Fetch Bridge with Ledger Nano X (ERC-20 --> Native Fetch) Issue Using Fetch Bridge with Ledger Nano X (ERC-20 --> Native Fetch)
Third Party

I am trying to bridge ERC-20 Fetch to Native FET:

I've installed Fetch wallet and linked my Ledger, as per instructions in fetch docs.

When I go to bridge tokens from ERC-20 to Native on the token-bridge linked from the fetch site (following Bridge instructions in fetch docs here too; only doing a partial transfer as a test), I get the following message on my Ledger device:

"This transaction cannot be trusted. Your Ledger cannot decode this transaction. If you sign it, you could be authorizing malicious actions that can drain your wallet. Learn more: (link to ledger site /e8)"

Needless to say I have rejected the transaction, so seeking help here. Bit disconcerting but maybe someone can shed some light?

I have latest versions of Ledger Live, the Cosmos app is updated, both browser wallets (Fetch and Metamask) are also completely up to date.

Sending coins from 1 ledger to another Sending coins from 1 ledger to another
Discussion

Hey guys, new here, I have two ledgers currently. I have one ledger live account and use one computer. I bought a 3rd ledger and want to send most of my coins from my second ledger to the 3rd.

I can do that right? Once the 3rd is set up, I’d go into X crypto select receive, copy the address, then plug in ledger 2 and send to the address I copied?

-No, I didn’t click on a scam link and compromise my address. -I don’t trust myself setting up a passphrase.
-I don’t want to send all my coins to the exchange as an intermediary.

Thanks!

advice on safely storing seedphrase advice on safely storing seedphrase
Official Support Response

I can get a bank safety deposit box for free.
i already keep my seedphrase in a safe at home, and a copy at my moms

i dont have a passphrase yet but guess i should create one.

so I'm thinking keep the seedphrases where they are, and create a passphrase for extra security and keep that in bank safety deposit box.

and it doesnt really matter where i keep my ledger as long as it's out of sight in my personal belongings in my bedroom.

sounds like a good plan or ?

thanks guys

Is my privacy guaranteed when I buy a Ledger? Is my privacy guaranteed when I buy a Ledger?
Official Support Response

Hey everyone,

I'm considering purchasing a Ledger hardware wallet, but I have a few questions about privacy and anonymity.

  1. If I buy and use a Ledger, will my identity remain completely anonymous? For example, does Ledger know nothing about my seed phrase, wallet addresses, or transactions?

  2. Are there certain data points that Ledger does collect about users? If so, which ones?

  3. Does anyone have experience with the Ledger Recover service and how it impacts anonymity?

I want to ensure that even Ledger itself has no access to my sensitive information. Any insights or experiences are welcome!

Thanks!

(I already have myself a Trezor wallet but I saw a lot of negative comments about ledger so just asking those questions)

Does Ledger support the newly migrated RENDER tokens on Solana, previously RNDR on the Ethereum blockchain? Does Ledger support the newly migrated RENDER tokens on Solana, previously RNDR on the Ethereum blockchain?
Official Support Response

If I send my RENDER tokens to my Solana address in Ledger Live, will they show up and will I be able to send/receive with my Ledger from that address?

For those who don't know, Render has migrated from Ethereum to Solana and the new ticker symbol is RENDER. This has just happened in the last few days so I want to know if Ledger and their products are capable of handling these tokens.
