Read info from Non Bambu Lab filament with AMS

Qjeezy
commented

Find out which filaments work well with the bambu profiles, then respool those onto the bambu spools with the original core and tag in place. You won’t be able to edit the filament info other than the k value, but at least you’ll get the color and filament remaining on the spool.

Slim AMS Lite for Dry Boxes

I was about to print the other version of this, but I think I like this orientation better.

Do you have the board integrated into this mount?

TLDR; you went off topic, I agreed with some of your statements, but you’re still wrong about a pla benchy melting inside a car and welding to the dash.

I don’t see this as a battle. You keep leaving the original topic of conversation in favor of what OP is referencing. I’m well aware of what OP is referencing, the jeep ducks and how he wants to hand out benchys instead.

You replied to him saying that leaving prints in cars can cause warping and sun bleaching, which you are correct. I don’t disagree with this statement.

I replied to you saying, it’s just a benchy. Basically saying “who cares, it’s a small print and we make a lot of them. If it gets ruined then so be it”.

The conversation was the diverted to how it can ruin the paint on vehicles if it melts. Which I also agree with. But this has nothing to do with leaving prints in cars like your original comment I replied to was. That is why I redirected back to the inside of the car and said “the dash is plastic”. Now we’re back in the car like we were in the beginning.

It was then said “pla can weld to other plastics”. Also again, I do not disagree. I assume it is being said that the temp inside a car can cause pla to reach its melting point and melt causing it to fuse to the dash? There’s no way the inside of a car is reaching 150°c. On top of that, pla and abs do not readily bond.

This is again where there was A redirect with a personal attack. Not a huge deal imo, but still a redirect.

I could probably stop here, but I’ll be thorough so there’s no more confusion.

I responded saying that you guys are creating irrational fears, of which they are for the 2 reasons I stated above and personal experience with the same vehicle.

It was then redirected yet again back to OP’s intentions, which again I am well aware of. And then we got back on track.

Are you all caught up now? Back on track?

This guy isn’t going to ruin his dash by leaving a pla benchy on it. Yes, the benchy may deform and the colors will likely sun bleach over time. Who cares about that though? It’s a benchy.

I’m not. I’m just saying putting a pla benchy on your dash isn’t going to ruin your dashboard. You guys keep creating fear of a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

I have done this exact thing OP posted and have the same exact vehicle. The benchy did deform but it came nowhere close to melting or welding to the dash. 100°f, direct sun, and multiple days.

You shouldn’t need to, but it’s never a bad idea to go through a brand new machine to clean and lube it. You never know what they missed at the factory.

You can also go to the settings for the slicer and turn on zoom to curser location. Wherever your curser is when you zoom in, it will go there instead of the center of the screen.

I really hate PETG

Qjeezy

I like Petg because it prints just like pla when it’s dry and calibrated, but it can withstand being outside without deforming.

I probably should have lowered the layer height on this toy I made for my son, but he won’t notice lol.

AMS doesnt switch to next spool

You need to make sure both slots of the ams have the same exact settings for the auto switch to work. Same color, same k value, same filament, everything.

Then make sure the ams filament backup option is enabled in the ams settings.

Tips for removing the toolhead PTFE tube.

Qjeezy
commented
  1. The tool head already has a ptfe tube guide that serves this same purpose. Do the other ones make it easier?

  2. From the looks of the video, you’re going to damage the metal locking teeth in the fitting by yanking it out like that. Maybe print it a little bit thicker. The buffer outlet fork from here:https://makerworld.com/models/14462 might work a little bit better and is probably easier to handle.

Print quality issue

Maybe the humidity is affecting all the rolls. Try drying them. It won’t hurt anything and you can rule that out if it doesn’t help.

Does it show anything in the sliced preview for those odd spots?
