I don’t see this as a battle. You keep leaving the original topic of conversation in favor of what OP is referencing. I’m well aware of what OP is referencing, the jeep ducks and how he wants to hand out benchys instead.
You replied to him saying that leaving prints in cars can cause warping and sun bleaching, which you are correct. I don’t disagree with this statement.
I replied to you saying, it’s just a benchy. Basically saying “who cares, it’s a small print and we make a lot of them. If it gets ruined then so be it”.
The conversation was the diverted to how it can ruin the paint on vehicles if it melts. Which I also agree with. But this has nothing to do with leaving prints in cars like your original comment I replied to was. That is why I redirected back to the inside of the car and said “the dash is plastic”. Now we’re back in the car like we were in the beginning.
It was then said “pla can weld to other plastics”. Also again, I do not disagree. I assume it is being said that the temp inside a car can cause pla to reach its melting point and melt causing it to fuse to the dash? There’s no way the inside of a car is reaching 150°c. On top of that, pla and abs do not readily bond.
This is again where there was A redirect with a personal attack. Not a huge deal imo, but still a redirect.
I could probably stop here, but I’ll be thorough so there’s no more confusion.
I responded saying that you guys are creating irrational fears, of which they are for the 2 reasons I stated above and personal experience with the same vehicle.
It was then redirected yet again back to OP’s intentions, which again I am well aware of. And then we got back on track.
Are you all caught up now? Back on track?
This guy isn’t going to ruin his dash by leaving a pla benchy on it. Yes, the benchy may deform and the colors will likely sun bleach over time. Who cares about that though? It’s a benchy.
