Boomer took it upon himself to REMOVE MY bumper sticker

During the 2008 election, I sported an Obama bumper sticker which read "Barack and roll" and I loved it. It was the first election I got to vote in and I (like many Americans) actually felt like I had skin in the game.
My dad lives several hours away, so when I visit (once every other month or so) I usually stay the night. Apparently having my car in his driveway overnight with that bumper sticker was just too much. In the wee hours of the morning he took his shitty hair dryer and a bunch of goo be gone and a razor blade and removed my sticker! And of course threw it in the trash. He told me what he did over breakfast, saying cheerfully, "don't worry I got rid of that offensive bumper sticker for you.". I wish I could say that I immediately ordered a hundred more and plastered his precious Mercedes with them. But I was young and so shocked and confused that I literally said and did nothing about it.

My workplace forgot my birthday, but remembered my coworker's Birthday that is also today.

I don't really care about my birthday, and never really have. I'm just turning 26 so it's not a big deal. I am perfectly fine with people forgetting my birthday, but I gotta say I am a little annoyed at the fact that my entire workplace remembered my coworker's birthday that is also today, but forgot mine. I'm not sure why it bothers me so much, but it bothered me enough to make a post about it here. Sorry for the silly post, thank you for reading! ❤️

Boomer thinks it was our 'choice' not to buy a house.

My partner and I are in the unfortunate position of having to live with his mum for a little while. It's not so bad, she's a classic boomer but mostly bearable. She had her friend over for dinner, literally named Karen, they magnified off each other like laser beams on boomer shaped mirrors till it made a boomer explosion. Dinner conversation turned onto buying houses, I should have steered the conversation away then knowing what was going to happen but instead a made a passing comment about how we have no choice in not being able to buy a house. Then Karen, with a smirk on her face tells us how no no, we did have a choice in our early 20's. She bought a piece of land when she was 20 and then sold it and got on the market and we had our priorities all wrong like travelling (we have never travelled). My partner eventually drew it out of her that she bought a 20 acre piece of land for...$11,000. I bit my tongue as it's not worth getting on my MIL bad side but I wanted to scream. You go find me a piece of land that's 11,000 today let alone a 20 acre one. When we were renting we were on a relatively good combined salary, our entire paycheck went to rent and other essentials, even if we scraped every cent we wouldn't have put a dent in a home deposit. So sick of boomers believing the myth that they got where they were because of personal choice, have some f******* self awareness.

"Do you know who the hell I am?!" No?

This happened two years ago. My partner and I had just bought our first house in an estate sale. For those of you that haven't been through the process, it can be a bit stressful as the sellers are typically not required to share any information about the property, you're mostly buying as-is. We loved the house and though it's had more warts on it than we wanted I wouldn't have done anything differently.

After a few months of preparing and repairing the property we moved in. I was lounging on our new couch when I noticed an old man walking two dogs. This normally wouldn't catch my attention but normally dog walkers aren't ten feet in on my front lawn. I still probably wouldn't have cared but at that moment the larger of the dogs took a fat dump on my yard and the old man ignored it.

I opened the front door and greeted him with a "Hello, how are you today? Please pick that up and don't do it again in the future, thanks!" I thought this was pretty reasonable but the old man apparently disagreed. He just turned and stared at me a moment before poking himself in the chest and saying those words. "Do you know who I am?!" Obviously I didn't and said as much... also I didn't care? I just wanted his dogs to stop shitting on my lawn. "Well I'm Mr. Son-of-Previous-Owner-of-That-House and in this neighborhood we treat each other with more respect."

Yeah? Like allowing our dogs to crap on everyone's property? I told him to clean up after his dog and leave or I would call the police for trespassing. Thankfully he did, but not without another few seconds of his weird boomer tantrum. Why are so many people like this? We have another neighbor his age that is incredibly kind to us and he says this guy has always been a prick.

Their 10 hr drive took 16, and then they…

They didn’t follow our guidance on what route to take. They missed a 730 dinner, they were half of the 12 person reservation - they let us know at 930 when we finally heard from them.

HOWEVER, we didn’t hear from them at 11 pm when they drove by our house - didn’t call, text, or knock.

“We saw people looking out through the window,” - of course you did, because that’s a weird thing to do.

Then they went to their hotel in a huff bc they hadn’t met up with this. We learned all of this at 10 am the next morning.
