Are US Software Developers on steroids? Are US Software Developers on steroids?

I am located in Germany and have been working as a backend developer (C#/.NET) since 8 years now. I've checked out some job listings within the US for fun. Holy shit ....

I thought I've seen some crazy listings over here that wanted a full IT-team within one person. But every single listing that I've found located in the US is looking for a whole IT-department.

I would call myself a mediocre developer. I know my stuff for the language I am using, I can find myself easily into new projects, analyse and debug good. I know I will never work for a FAANG company. I am happy with that and it's enough for me to survive in Germany and have a pretty solid career as I have very strong communication, organisation and planning skills.

But after seeing the US listings I am flabbergasted. How do mediocre developers survive in the US? Did I only find the extremely crazy once or is there also normal software developer jobs that don't require you to have experience in EVERYTHING?
