I was always a fan of horror antagonists just standing there, staring. It makes it harder to read their intentions, and generally it's just a lot more unsettling than outright action. For me, it's way more effective than a jump scare.
The Void, US, Halloween, and The Strangers make my short list, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some good ones.

From my list,
-The Return of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space: In 3D (Killer Klowns from Outer Space sequel)
-All American Massacre (sequel to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 focusing on Chop Top)
-The Collected (The Collection sequel)
-Scooby-Doo 3 (The live action with Mathew Lillard, also, does this count as horror?)
-Gremlins 3

I’ve seen When Evil Lurks, Terrified, Late Night With The Devil, Caveat, Sinister and a few others but there have been my favorite so far. When Evil Lurks has been my favorite so far but I need some more recommendations. Help me out please! Maybe give a small synopsis of the movie as well! I like supernatural movies the most.
Sub for the Netflix Original series: Stranger Things. The disappearance of a young boy sparks a chain of events leading the residents of the small town of Hawkins to uncover a government conspiracy and a supernatural mystery which will not only shatter all semblance of normality, but also threaten their very existence.
This show is AMAZING, and easily my favorite show to have come out in a decade.
When I watched the first episode (on DVR), it was around 1:00am and my fiance fell asleep so I told myself "I'll watch the first couple minutes, just to get a peek". An hour later and I'm laying there thinking "how in the hell could this show be so damn good". My fiance awoke to take a drink of water and asked if I'd been to sleep yet, to which I told her "When you watch this show, it'll be hard to fall asleep; the picked the PERFECT people to play these roles".
We watched it the following day, and now IWTV is her absolute favorite show as well. It's been on the Stories By AMC channel quite often recently, and a lot of times we just put it on, as it's better than anything else on, so it sure seems. As someone else said, you can tell they put 1000% into the acting, production, and everything else. I plan on watching S1 E01 with my elderly Mom tomorrow, as she likes the movie.
To all who love the show: watch it, watch it often if you can, and watch it legally. One of my favorite shows from nine years ago was cancelled because people weren't watching the way they should, and I really want IWTV to continue as long as possible. The only way we can do that is to support it in all the right ways.

I think the scariest movie I’ve ever seen is hereditary. My horror movie catalog is pretty empty as I was always a fan of slashers such as F13, Halloween, and those kinds of movies. Also a note that the only other movie I’ve watched high was the strangers, but I was with friends and way too stoned to appreciate it. So this will be my first time alone and high to watch a scary movie.
