My Poco X3 Pro Died Once, Considering a Custom ROM Now – Seeking Advice and Sharing Concerns My Poco X3 Pro Died Once, Considering a Custom ROM Now – Seeking Advice and Sharing Concerns

I know my phone will sure die in few months or soon

I've been considering installing a custom ROM on my Poco X3 Pro. While I'm excited about the potential improvements in performance and features, I'm also pretty nervous about the risks involved. The last thing I want is to end up with a bricked device.

I've read about the issues with the Poco X3 Pro in India and Nepal, where users have reported sudden crashes and complete failure to turn on. It seems like the exact cause hasn't been officially confirmed by Xiaomi or Poco. Based on what I've seen with other smartphones, the problems could be related to:

  1. Software Issues: Bugs in the operating system or firmware causing instability.

  2. Hardware Issues: Faulty components or manufacturing defects, like problems with the battery or motherboard.

  3. Combination of Factors: Often, it's a mix of both software and hardware issues.

I feel like I'm in a bit of a do-or-die situation. On one hand, I don't trust these brands much anymore, given the issues people have faced. On the other hand, I'm tempted to try a custom ROM to see if it can fix the problems or at least make my device more reliable.

For those who have taken the plunge and installed a custom ROM, how did it go for you? Did it resolve any issues you were having, or did it make things worse? What's the real risk of ending up with a dead device after installing a custom ROM?

Appreciate any advice or shared experiences!

Title: Microphone Issues on MIUI 13.0.1 After Motherboard Replacement (Snapdragon 855+) – Considering Downgrade Title: Microphone Issues on MIUI 13.0.1 After Motherboard Replacement (Snapdragon 855+) – Considering Downgrade

Certainly! Here is your revised Reddit post with the required information for the PocoPhones Mod Team:

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my phone's microphone and speaker. Here’s the background:

About a year ago, my phone was dead but luckily still under warranty. Customer service replaced the motherboard and processor. The phone now runs on a Snapdragon 855+ (downgraded from the original specs) and MIUI 13.0.1.

**The Issue:**

  • The microphone works fine for about 15-20 minutes after a restart.

  • Right after restarting When I play PUBG, the microphone works the entire time during gameplay.

  • If the phone is inactive for 15-20 minutes, the microphone stops working, and I need to restart the phone.

  • I have to restart my phone for every phone call to get the microphone to work.

**Additional Information:**

  • **Device Model:** Poco X3 Pro

  • **Device Region:** Indian/ Bhima

  • **ROM Type:** MIUI

  • **ROM/Android Version:** MIUI 13.0.1 - Android 12

  • **Troubleshooting Steps Taken:** Restarting the phone temporarily resolves the issue. The problem reoccurs if the phone is inactive for 15-20 minutes.

  • **Frequency of Problem:** Intermittent, but consistently occurs after periods of inactivity.

  • **Other Observed Weirdness:** Microphone works fine during gameplay (PUBG) but not during regular use after inactivity.

**My Question:**

  • Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their microphone and speaker?

  • Has anyone downgraded their phone’s MIUI version due to similar problems?

  • If you downgraded, did it resolve the issue without causing other problems or making the phone unusable?

It may take a while for someone to address my concern, so in the meantime, I will:

  • Search this subreddit, Xiaomi subreddit, MIUI subreddit for similar concerns.

  • Check out the pinned posts and the Wiki (WIP) for similar topics.

  • Open a case with customer support if my phone is still under warranty coverage.

  • Check out r/Spicypillow's FAQ on how to deal with a swollen or bulging battery if applicable.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Don´t receive calls... The beginning of the end? Don´t receive calls... The beginning of the end?

Hi all! I've been having a problem with my Poco X3 Pro for a few weeks now: from time to time people call me and my phone doesn't ring. Worse, I don't even get a missed call message. It's not a generalized problem: sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I am in an area with sufficient coverage and my wife, who has the same operator, has no problem.

I wonder if it has something to do with the problems that Poco X3 Pro's have when they reach a certain age? Has the same thing happened to anyone?
