Cedar Hedge Limb Removal (Trimming) Cedar Hedge Limb Removal (Trimming)

Hi all, I have a nice, full cedar hedge that's about 10ft tall. On the other side of it is a really beaten down old fence. my neighbour and I want to replace the fence and I'm trying to see what possible solutions exist to help me keep the hedge and install a new (6ft) fence.

  • Is it possible to trim entire limbs on one side of the tree so they don't grow in order to install a fence and not have tree grow into the fence?

  • Are there ways to maintain the side of a cedar fence that is next to (and potentially butting up to) to a cedar hedge?

  • How can I accomplish this lol

If this is the wrong place apologies and thank you for reading this!

Late 20s career changer Late 20s career changer

I'm in my late 20s and looking to move home to the UK and change career into a horticulture related field. It seems like RHS level 2 principles of horticulture is kind of key for moving forward but I wouldn't be able to start that course until September 2025. I have no real experience, other than volunteering so I'm in need of some entry level experience in the meantime. My question is, are there any good platforms for finding jobs in gardening/horticulture? I use LinkedIn for my current job but I can't imagine it's the best for this industry. I am counting down the minutes until I can quit my job now so any advice on job platforms/apprenticeships in the London/Oxfordshire area so appreciated!
