Singapore Airlines makes emergency landing after turbulence leaves one dead, 30 injured

Singapore Airlines says one person has died and others were injured when a London-Singapore flight hit severe turbulence on Tuesday.

The Singapore Airlines flight from London made an emergency landing in Bangkok due to bad weather conditions on Tuesday afternoon. Multiple Thai media outlets reported 30 passengers on board were injured.

The flight was headed to Singapore when it made the emergency landing.

Singapore Airlines said that flight SQ321 had 211 passengers and 18 crew on board.

“We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER,” it said in a statement.

“We are working with the local authorities in Thailand to provide the necessary medical assistance, and sending a team to Bangkok to provide any additional assistance needed.”

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs was contacted for comment.
