Hot Take: "euphoria" was the best diss track Kendrick made

Hear me out: "meet the grahams" was the most ruthless one, "Not Like Us" was the most catchy one. But there is something special and unique about "euphoria". It is a song that you can play on repeat, it has incredible bars, entendres upon entendres, he hit Drake everywhere it hurt. 6 and a half minutes of Kendrick showing everyone why he is such a revered artist in the industry, lyrically out rapping Drake. For the first week or two every time I listened to the song I found new meanings within it.

Seeing Not Like Us top the charts is obviously brilliant, and everytime I see people rank the songs put out over the fued, euphoria is often overlooked.

Just here to give euphoria the flowers it absolutely deserves.

UPDATE on girl who overdosed at John Summit Day 1 Circuit Grounds

TW: overdose

On Day 1 of EDC, a 26-year old girl dropped the floor at Circuit Grounds during John Summit's set (middle center/right-ish, and a bit towards the back) right in front of my group. Her friends were crying and screaming for help. My friend and I quickly jumped in to assess (I am an EMT and my friend is an RN)… no pulse, no respirations, and her skin appeared blue. She was clinically dead. As a few kind strangers gave her Narcan, we immediately began CPR; I opened her airway while my friend (we’ll call him Will) did chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth. Will pointed at 1 person to call for the medical team, who then promptly left the scene. After a few rounds of CPR and a few doses of Narcan (up to 5 I believe), her pulse returned and she began breathing on her own again, but barely. Her eyes were very dilated, but at least moving now.

After approximately 5-10 minutes at the scene and numerous individuals around us waving flashlights and screaming for help, no medical team came. Will, the girl’s bf, a few strangers, and I aggressively pushed through the crowd with the girl primarily over Will’s shoulders in a fireman carry as she restlessly kicked and screamed in confusion. Will dropped to the floor in exhaustion after pushing through the bulk of Circuit Grounds; some people were mad at us but we did not give a single fuck— this was life or death. The boyfriend, small group of strangers, and I continued to carry the girl to a merchandise tent and attempted to get help/medical transportation to a med tent. We were met by event staff but after 10-15 minutes of waiting, we all agreed to just carry her to the nearest med tent-- we were directed by staff to the one near Cosmic Meadow.

From the her collapse, to resuscitation, through the treacherous crowd… about 30-45 minutes. They discovered her temperature was extremely high, and Will thought “dilated pupils, cyanosis, elevated temp, restlessness, confusion… this aligns with the signs/symptoms of serotonins syndrome?” (this is one possible outcome though we’re uncertain because many substances give rise to different reactions in different people; we are also uncertain of opioid OD since pinpoint pupils are a sign and hers were dilated)

We’re later updated that she was shortly transferred to the SICU where she was under close medical surveillance. Recently, I was updated that she is alive, was released from the hospital yesterday, and her and her friends are back in their home state.

I am so so so glad that she is alive and that she was surrounded by the right people at the right time/place. I’m also grateful for all of the individuals that made an effort to help, especially those who selflessly helped us carry the girl from circuit grounds to the med tent. I wish for this traumatizing experience to never fall upon anyone else, neither as an active rescuer or witness.

Apple Music panel had a hard time choosing between GKMC and TPAB for a Top 10 finish. Chose GKMC, and excluded TPAB from the Top 100 entirely.

I honestly can't believe Apple Music posted this without thinking about it.

Apple Music on X: "For an artist with a catalogue like u/kendricklamar, it’s tough to pick just one album. @oldmanebro and @maggierogers discuss why good kid, m.A.A.d city was the one on our #100BestAlbums list. What do you think is the best Kendrick album? 👇 https://t.co/h4zwvTVocQ" / X

In the video, they argue which should be included: Kendrick's GKMC or TPAB, and they ultimately chose GKMC cause it was more accessible while still being a conceptual album. They argue TPAB was a lot more dense and complex.

I don't disagree with their assessment and I personally have GKMC over TPAB, but they all seem to agree BOTH albums are top tier albums.

And the fact that they're arguing over a TOP 10 placement, means BOTH albums should've been in the TOP 100.

So why did they just randomly decide to omit TPAB all together?!

They could've placed one album earlier on in the list, no?

Norway labelled as antisemitic in Israeli media

https://www.vg.no/rampelys/i/xm3Ajp/eurovision-norge-stemplet-som-antisemitter-i-israelsk-media

NRK says they had to ask for extra securety for the delegation after Israeli media was claiming Norway was antisemitic. They claimed that Gåte didn't want to talk to Israeli media, and therefore being antisemitic. Stig Karlsen, the head of the norwegian delegation said that it was very uncomfortable, scary and sad to have fabricated claims that goes against their values thrown at them. According to Karlsen, Gåte didn't have time to talk to all journalists on the turquoise carpet. The Israeli journalists wasn't the only journalists that Gåte didn't speak to. The decision to increase the security was made after the norwegian delegation got a lot of uncomfortable messages from strangers.

Magnus Børmark in Gåte said: "He understood that something like that could happen" -It was important for us too have faith in the Israeli media and regime to be able to respect the shared values of Eurovision. These clips, together with what Bambie Thug experienced with KANs commentator encouragement to spread hate towards them -together with other incidents- laid to that we together confronted EBU in Malmö.

NRK are going to discuss what is going to happen in regards of ESC 2024, and what they are going to say to the EBU.

What's a terrible line that's perfectly sold by a great rapper?

What are those bars that if they left any other rappers mouth they'd be atrocious but the lyric is suited well to the artist's style.

My pick is this gem on Best Rapper Alive by Lil Wayne:

"Fuck up with all these rookie MCs (Whew!) smell like a bunch of pussy to me"

Wayne's delivery absolutely sells what would be an otherwise corny line.
