Philosophy
We challenge our students to think clearly about truth, facts and the mind, about values, justice and equality, and about the meaning of existence. Philosophy is concerned with the foundations of the humanities, the sciences, arts, and society. We offer a B.A. and a Ph.D. in Philosophy. The department is internationally recognized in philosophy of mind, moral and political philosophy, and medical and applied ethics, but we offer courses across the entire spectrum of philosophy and its history.
