Heyoo, I am completely exhausted from the bs given to my by Air India so here's my issue and I need some guidance as to what steps to take next.
I booked a flight from Frankfurt to Bangalore for the 13th of December. I go the to airport. During check-in, the guy out of nowhere is telling me that my ticket is not for the 13th but for the 14th. By this time, he had already stowed in one of my bags. I showed him my ticket confirmation which says my flight is on the 13th (Air India sent me this ticket). He called his supervisor. Even the supervisor is confused now. This dude after looking into the matter for literally 2 minutes is telling me there is nothing he can do and I can only fly out tomorrow. LIKE WTFFF MY TICKET SAYS THE FLIGHT IS ON THE 13TH. I was quite annoyed at this point. So I kept pushing him to look into this matter. He then calls his supervisor. Turns out that dude had no idea too. Then he gave up saying that there's noting he can do and I should try calling the Air India customer support.
How can a booking change magically?? My theory is that the flight was overbooked and this is some bs reason they are giving me.
Even the customer support exec was not sure what the issue was. She told me that booking for my PNR was cancelled for the 13th and rescheduled to the 14th. She then apologized and said she could not help me and insisted me to file a complaint through their website. When I asked for some compensation the exec told she couldn't help with that either. I was not even provided with accommodation for the night. I had to book a hotel myself. I feel so helpless. Like how dafaq does this happen and why does air india staff so stupid. AHHH
So is there any way where I can file a complaint and get compensated?
Thanks for listening to me if you made it this far. Will update tomorrow.

Many Air India Express flights scheduled for this morning from Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kochi to destinations such as Doha, Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and various Indian airports were canceled without any advance notice. Hundreds of people, including families and children, were left stranded at airports after traveling for hours to reach them. Another setback for Air India and Tata. There were reports of rude handling of passengers by airport staff. For many passengers, their employment and visit visas to overseas destinations are about to expire, and with no immediate flight rescheduling available, the futures of thousands of passengers are at risk. According to Kochi International Airport staff, a significant number of Air India Express crew members took sick leave, plunging the Indian aviation sector into chaos.
