What do you think of Adam Buxton?

I loved the Adam and Joe show the first time round and it continues to be a great watch. A&J on 6music was always delightful. The Adam Buxton podcast is now probably my fave audio show. Dr. Buckles as Tim Messenger in Hot Fuzz and his appearance as one of the sons in Stardust always brings a smile to my face. On top of all his great work, he seems to be a genuinely good and lovely man. It's my opinion that Adam Buxton deserves more love and recognition from the Great British Public, but it does seem that he is very content.

Adam Buxton discusses Karl Pilkington on the Louis Theroux podcast

In the most recent episode of The Louis Theroux podcast, Adam Buxton was on and talked about how he covered for Ricky & Steve on XFM back in the day when they were off filming. Karl gave him some advice on how to do the show and not make it too overproduced, just as natural as possible.

It was only a brief mention of Karl but what I got from it is that here is another example of Karl's unrecognised influence as The Adam Buxton Podcast went on to be huge. So many people owe their success to Karl.

Last night Adam Buxton brought out Frank Black to play 'Hey' with Richard Ayoade.

Ol' Buckles played the London Palladium last night and in the second half did a bit on Pixies and their influence on him. After a bit of customary waffle, Ayoade started noodling Hey on his guitar. When Buxton asked him to sing it, he seemed shy and instead, from stage right, emerged Frank Black. They played Hey, with Ayoade doing the lead solo.

Then Buxton got Frank Black to play Calistan. And he finished with Where Is My Mind.

Great night.

Does anyone knows the lyrics to this as I wonder every time I hear it, it's just the line after "Give a little smile and a thumbs up' sound like maybe "hands in your pants and your bums up?" But I'm really not sure?!

Did anyone listen to Simon Pegg on the latest Adam Buxton podcast? Had some interesting things to say about the Last Jedi

He said a few things about TLJ and the sequels that I found interesting:

  1. Despite all the shit he gave him, he misses George Lucas and feels it's very noticeable how missing his voice is now (I think Mike said something similar in the Star Wars Awakens review).

  2. That fans of TLJ are gaslighting people by deliberately mischaracterising any criticism of TLJ as 'butthurt fanboyism'.

Not exactly the most outrageous statements, but I think is the first time I've heard criticism of the films and their fanbase from someone who was actually in one of them and knows the people involved.
