Know of someone who is diagnosed with an end-stage illness and is due to undergo a major surgery. He requested from his company for a few months of medical and hospital leave, which will be given by the doctor. He has notified the company about it way before the scheduled surgery and told them to make plans in his absence.
However, his superiors have been simply unreasonable and uncompassionate towards his situation by mounting pressure on him to WFO, piling more work onto him, and even asked him to cut short his medical leave and go back to work earlier. Meanwhile, they failed to prepare for his temporary absence and did not get someone to cover for him, despite ample notice.
Of course, I have advised him to find another job soon after he recovers, even if it means taking a pay cut.
I just wanted to know if anyone faced such a situation before and how did you deal with it. Also, are they any legal route to handle this types of situation and in the event he is fired from the company for some made-up reason?
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I am a white European female 23 and been dating my Singaporean Chinese bf (M23) for 1,5 years now. Soon I will meet his parents for the first time and I am really nervous. Can you please give me any tips before I meet them?
What I know now:
They are typical strict modest Chinese parents
I’m gonna dress modestly (still a little lost what exactly I should wear, I am invited for a dinner out with the whole family parents and my bf)
I also know that bringing a small gift like fruit bowl or something nice is a good point. And also not typical western gifts.
Please help me out guys it’s really important to me to make a good impression 🙏
