Artist's hospice mosaic inspired by patients
Patients and family members have helped provide the inspiration for a new mosaic that has nearly been completed in a hospice garden.
Mosaic artist Jackie Nash approached Primrose Hospice at Bromsgrove with an artwork offer about three years ago.
With the help of funding from the Arts Council and local sponsors, she is now finishing off the final section of the 7.5-metre (24.6ft) mosaic.
The former school art teacher from Blackwell in Worcestershire has also staged mosaic workshops with teenagers whose family members are or have been hospice patients.
"It's been a fantastic project," she said. "I’ve also worked with the children who attend the family support team sessions and taught them how to mosaic as well as some of the patients too."
