A tool to practice your Board Strength skills - Introducing Boardle!

Hey CompetitiveTFT,

We just wrapped up building a Wordle-type minigame for TFT - Boardle

An example matchup - who wins?

The main daily game mode has you guessing the correct outcome across 10 matchups using real data from games played over the last day.

If that's not enough, there is also an endless mode to help you sharpen your board strength skills. I'm curious who can get the highest accuracy over 50+ games.

Hopefully it's an entertaining way to spend your time if you're stuck in a long Challenger queue, and might help you improve your TFT game knowledge at the same time!

Map Rotation, What Is the Logic and Why Wasn't it Addressed in the Dev Update?

TL;DR Dev Update communicated the map changes but not the logic behind them. Seems like this would be beneficial to include so the community has some idea what the Dev's reasoning behind map pool rotations is.

After seeing the Dev Update, briefly pausing to cry for the loss ofmy beloved Split and then cry tears of joy about my also beloved Haven, I got to thinking about how random the map changes seem to be.

I think we, as a community, understand why Breeze was rotated out, and that's coming from someone who actually enjoys the map but definitely can see it's flaws and why many think it is unfun to watch and play.

What truly doesn't make sense to me is why Split is (tied with Breeze as) the first map to be rotated out twice.

Bind just recently came back in, so makes sense why that stays.

Ascent has been out since the end of beta and has somehow never been rotated out, even with the meta on it becoming the most stale in the game.

Lotus has never been rotated out, and my first thought was that perhaps they think a year and a half is too short for a map to be in before rotating? Upon some quick digging, though, I saw that Pearl was rotated out in less time (introduced June 2022, rotated out August 2023), so that theory doesn't seem to hold water.

Is it because they want to take out maps that they think need a rework? I would struggle to understand this as well. If this were the case then it seems hard to believe when Icebox and Sunset (with its B post plant meta) are still being left in the pool, as these maps along with Breeze seem in most need of work.

I think these questions aren't too complicated to answer, so it's a bit disappointing to see a Dev Update where their goal is to communicate more with the community, but they don't communicate the logic behind their decisions.

Furthermore, I struggle to see the reasoning behind the maps they are reintroducing to the pool. Most people seem to enjoy Haven, so I think the general community is happy it's coming back. But why does it come back after 6 months when Fracture and Pearl are yet to come back after over a year and a half? Is it because they are still working on changing the maps? Is it just based off community sentiment? Do the devs think the maps don't align with their gameplay philosophies? I'm not saying there isn't a reason, but the devs explaining that reason would have been a great inclusion in the Dev Update.

Gamers say ‘smurfing’ is generally wrong and toxic, but 69% admit they do it at least sometimes. They also say that some reasons for smurfing make it less blameworthy. Relative to themselves, study participants thought that other gamers were more likely to be toxic when they smurfed. : science

If OCE was on the moon, would they be more competitive?

Continuing on the hypothetical region change discussions we have seen recently, would OCE be more competitive with other regions if they were located on the moon? Would they have better ping to EU or NA and be able to scrim teams outside their region?

Would they do even worse than now, because the gravity would be so much different from what they have been accustomed to IRL?

First proper NA team qualifies to the main stage and Top8.

Bliss now only have one life left, they lose tomorrow they are out of the tournament
