App is a bit clunky but having a pixel I figured I'd give it a try. Have been using the app for several months, don't enjoy how there's no way to hide viewed episodes (you can delete downloaded but that's it)... Then today I open the app and all my subscriptions are gone, history -- gone. Yet I'm still being suggested podcasts that are related to what I was listening to. A quick google shows this has been an ongoing issue for people over several years, the fact it is still a problem is insane.

I have always used Google podcasts and loved it aside from the fact it plays your downloads in order of most recently uploaded to not instead of oldest to newest. Lately though my app has been having a lot of issues. For hours at a time it will only show my widget bar at the bottom and a black screen so I am unable to listen to anything. Anytime I try to remove a downloaded episode it will reappear and often I it will fail to download new episodes even if my subscription is set to auto download

Everything is great. App loads quick and the selection is amazing. Wish there were was an easier option for rewind and forward since being busy with kids I miss it sometimes.. I am sure there is but being new to podcasts, I just didn't find it easy. Maybe it's device dependent.

What's new
Google Podcasts now supports adding podcasts by RSS feed! Open the app and navigate to Activity, and then to the Subscriptions tab. Select the three dots in the top right corner and then "Add by RSS Feed." Once added, the podcast will appear along with your other subscribed shows, including at the top of the Home tab.
