TIL in the movie "Elf" the Gimbel's manager wears a "Wanda" name tag because Wanda Sykes was originally cast in the role

Did Wanda Sykes play herself?

Was Wanda ever specifically referred to as “Wanda Sykes” or as a comedian or celebrity, or could she have just been a neighbor named “Wanda” with a similar personality?

EDIT: Thank you for all the replies. It’s a testament to the quality of the show that so many people are willing to share so many interesting thoughts about one character, on a random Wednesday, decades later. It seems like Wanda’s character’s likeness is not quite that of Richard Lewis or Ted Danson, but clearly a different kind of acting than Jeff or Susie. And of course, one could write a whole biography about Larry David with comparisons of the man to his character and work. To me, the beauty of the show is that it can be as entertaining as it is while also making me question morality, human nature and even reality itself.

She’s so fucking good on The Other Two! I feel like I don’t see her in much anymore and I love that what was probably a smaller part in the first season turned in to her being basically a regular! She’s rivaling Ken Marino in making me laugh with every line. Her delivery of “well that’s fucking insane” in 3x05 just killed me. Any standout moments for you from her this season or past seasons?
