We have delisted this plugin, but telemetry is not equivalent to stealing confidential data or sending it directly to the developer.
I want to clarify that we're not removing this plugin because the developer necessarily did something bad or evil. That's not the case at all. We're simply delisting it because we are not okay with telemetry in the plugins as it can be misused.
Do you mean search inside of a canvas, or that global search would find text in a canvas?
The good news is that both are planned! I just want to learn more about which one you're talking about.
Hi bramblebrain, sorry for the bug, the misunderstanding is as kepano explained. I also want to add that it's really easy to see what the network call is about. If you open the Electron Chromium dev console (Ctrl-Shift-I), under the Network tab you can see exactly what was communicated with the server.
Endpoint: https://api.obsidian.md/user/info
Payload: {token:null}
Response (most likely): {"error":"Not logged in"}
If you do not open the "About" tab, there should be no intended network calls while you create or edit notes. This one is unintended as well; we shouldn't do it for users without an account. As kepano said it will be removed in the next version.
Ah that's not an issue at all! Don't worry about it, thanks for submitting to Reddit!
