Mercure Piccadilly Hotel
We are returning again to the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in central Manchester for QED 2024. The hotel and the conference work hard to be fully accessible, but if you have any specific accessibility needs we will be happy to discuss them with you.
If youʼre staying at the hotel, we have reserved a number of rooms for QED attendees at the special rate of £135 per night for single occupancy, or £147 per night for double/twin. These rooms are immune from the usual time-sensitive fluctuations of hotel pricing.
Cheaper rooms may be available online, so itʼs always worth checking.
You can only book by directly contacting Mercure hotel reservations on 0161 751 1412 (Option 1) and quoting the discount code 2410QEDBED. Lines are open between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday and you will need a credit or debit card to secure your booking. Terms & conditions apply.

Manchester Travel Tips
Manchester enjoys excellent transport links: the North West has the highest density of motorways in the UK, and the city is ringed by the only truly orbital motorway. For sat nav purposes you need to go to:
Mercure Piccadilly HotelPortland Street
Manchester
M1 4PH
Should you find yourself in the Manchester area, you can route-plan with the Transport for Greater Manchester journey planner. A bus ride from the south of the city may carry you along what is often claimed to be Europeʼs busiest bus route. There is room for skepticism over this claim.
You can ride the metrolink trams using your contactless debit card. Drivers might find Waze useful to negotiate traffic and Parkopedia will let you find a place to keep the car.
