Arriving this week, the third SUV model from Chinese car maker Chery – the Tiggo 8 Pro Max priced from a sharp $41,990 drive-away – a seven-seater in three grades, Urban and Elite both front drive while the top-spec Ultimate comes with all-wheel-drive as standard. All models powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine driving through a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. The base Urban model features 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats , synthetic leather trim, a 360 degree camera and wireless phone charging , the mid-range Elite adds a power tailgate, third row air-vents and heated rear view mirrors while the top spec all-wheel drive Ultimate further adds 19-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, three on-road and three off-road drive modes and a swag of driver assist elements – I just hope the’re tuned to our driving conditions.
