Decades of support

Over the years, we have been fortunate to partner with several organizations that recognize the importance of our work. We are extremely grateful to all of our partners who support us with donations, infrastructure and exposure.

Explore.org

explore.org is the world’s largest live nature network. Its purpose is to have people all over the world fall in love with Nature. explore.org is a purely philanthropic endeavour of the Annenberg Foundation, free for all to access over 180 live streams. explore has been a major supporter of OrcaLab’s work since 2015, providing funding and technical support crucial to the development of OrcaLab’s wireless network and remote camera infrastructure.

Whale & Dolphin Conservation

Whale and Dolphin Conservation is a wildlife charity that is dedicated solely to the worldwide conservation and welfare of all whales, dolphins and porpoises. OrcaLab’s long-standing partnership with WDC includes an orca adoption programme and involvement in anti-captivity campaigns.

Born Free Foundation

The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity that campaigns to “Keep Wildlife in the Wild”. It protects wild animals in their natural habitat, campaigns against the keeping of wild animals in captivity and rescues wild animals in need. OrcaLab’s partnership includes the Springer Adoption project. Born Free played a major role in the successful return of Springer, a two year old orphaned Northern Resident, to her home waters in 2002.

BC Whales (North Coast Cetacean Society)

The North Coast Cetacean Society (NCCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the research and protection of whales along the northern coast of BC. OrcaLab is a partner with NCCS in the creation of the British Columbia Coast-wide Hydrophone Network.
